    Super Rugby 2022

If we want rugby and what’s happened in Europe happens here, that’s what we will get. Honestly, the best in the world get worked over by TT, let alone a Super Rugby player. Hopefully these are all hypotheticals and we don’t have to see it, but a club like Sydney Uni have a stockpile of props that would...

    Super Rugby 2022

The logistics are tough. I’d imagine it’s easier to source semi pro front rowers in Sydney, Canberra and Brisbane. The payment/isolation aspect is beyond my pay scale. To me it seems a worse case scenario deal, where you have a bloke capable of holding his side of the scrum up. Anything more...

    Super Rugby 2022

I think in most cities there are tight forwards who have been there or there abouts who would be happy to have a crack if needed. I’m thinking players like Ed Craig, Tim Metcher, et al, who have trained at Super Rugby level and gone back to clubland. I used those names as examples, as I’m not sure where...

And surely a third stringer in a key position would prefer game time than watching uncontested scrums. They are professionals who want to show how good they can play.

    Reds 2022

An embarrassment of riches in the back row, hopefully the guys not getting sufficient game time if they move, they move to another Super Rugby franchise as opposed to OS.

    Waratahs 2022

Maybe Tahs management have been reading the super rugby 2022 thread and have tried to be proactive with front row stocks? Just kidding.

    Aussie Player Exodus

Agreed. We don’t have worry about MLR signing our superstars. As said above, it’s the young blokes in clubland that want to get more than they currently are and want to go overseas and have fun.

    Wallabies 2023

That’ll be good for tv ratings

    Waratahs 2022

At least the beers, pies, etc at the ground are considerably cheaper than the scg, sfs

    Waratahs 2022

Part of the Tahs problem these past few years has been the lack of experience. Guys like HJH (Harry Johnson-Holmes), Newsome, etc went from being rookies to the teams leaders overnight. A few of the older heads returning will definitely round out the squad well and hopefully nurture some of the young talent we have.

Barbarians vs Samoa, Sunday 28 November 12:30AM AEST

Another difference is that last year the baabaas game was cancelled because players broke Covid protocols. This doesn’t seem to be implied in any of the reporting.

Fair play I forgot that one.

    Super Rugby 2022

The Aussie teams looked like shell shocked kids in the first weeks of Super Rugby TT. They didn’t seem used to the size of the opposition. As the season progressed we became more competitive. Super Rugby AU was good to watch, but if our aim is to build a stronger wallabies using mostly domestic players we need to...

Just reported as three here: https://www.foxsports.com.au/rugby/wallabies-players-test-positive-to-covid19-while-preparing-to-play-for-the-barbarians/news-story/890b187510221aad7b05f8f3bc45750f

That’s what I thought. Doubt you’d need a decimal point with his average point scoring.

    Refereeing decisions

It’s bending the rules, and I’m sure there are plenty of downsides but if it makes teams think twice about box kicking maybe it’s not all bad

Guess the bubbles weren’t that good. 3 wallabies amongst the Covid cases.

The breakup is mostly Aussies and I think a South African, 2 Argentine and four Japanese (not including Perese). If these touring parties took their bubbles seriously and it’s 4 players then it’d be the Japanese. I could be wrong

And also in the photo, how excited does McDermott look to be on the bench behind white in an exhibition game. Surely McDermott is perfect for a baabaas game, I don’t think whites box kicking fits their philosophy. Doesn’t matter now anyways

    Disappointing. These are trying times.
