    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

France jogging back into a defensive line when OZ hot on attack. Not great rugby at all.

Damn good (technical) call there by the TMO and Joubert.

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

Dus is being rested. They have a good young dynamic midfield. Could be around for many years to come if there is patience. Big concern will be how Freddie approaches the game and whether he unleashes them. Freddie drifts in and out of games with the best of them. It's not their number 1...

Apologies. Typo fixed, had the Tahs on my mind from posting on the Fern

    Crusaders v Force R16 (Friday 30 May)

The Crusader doctors were on to it from the beginning. No doubt the AB doctors were advised, given the upcoming test series. Nothing disingenuous about that at all. Toddy chose to not play him on advice from doctors, not the AB coaches which is what you implied.

Indeed he is Tomikin. Always enjoy Doug's posts on all things Carter. He's had a big year so far working in an effective engine room for the Brumbies. He's good at lineout time and has int he last few weeks carried the ball with greater oomph.

    Wallabies v France 1st test - Suncorp 7 June

No it won't be Doug, it will be Robbie's..... :) I hope the kid goes well. But you never know with a debutante no matter what their pedigree or form at lower levels, and I guess that's what Link wants to find out.

    Crusaders v Force R16 (Friday 30 May)

Todays news that he is out for the test due to further symptoms lends significant weight to Toddy and the Saders taking all the necessary precautions and time they did rather than a so called resting because of AB requirements

I would imagine that Horwill is there for insurance though just in case the young fella is overawed by the occasion and goes MIA. You'd hope not, but Horwill would be able to pick it up seamlessly. Jones again is a greenhorn. Not ideal bringing a greenhorn for a debutante

Good side. You can't really fault that side IMO. It will be interesting to see what Link does in this series. I'm not sure he is settled on what his number one side is so will we see quite a bit of rotation for test 2 regardless of the result. THe bolded are who I think are settled as starters.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

It's not the 'pilfers', it's the workrate, the tackle count, the speed to the breakdown that sets these guys apart to just another loose forward. Look at the workrate of Hodgson, he does things that even a good blindside doesn't get through, because that's what the position demands.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

Not necessarily. Phipps has more Wallaby experience and has made some very obvious improvements to his game.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

Yes he's the starting blindside, wasn't suggesting otherwise. But there is a big risk in having a lock plus Higgers on the bench with no openside cover in the starting lineup or bench. If Hooper goes down in the first minute then there isn't the mobility to get the job down at the...

The success of League players in Rugby Union

He played his best footy for Biarritz at 2nd 5 IMO. Did have a couple of stints on the wing I do recall, but his playmaking ability and strong tackling was at their best in 12. I thought in that HC final he started to look really comfortable at rugby and was disappointed somewhat that he was...

Needs to get into shape if he did come back. Looked a little on the chunky side in that T14 semi and baabaas game

    New Zealand squad announced

Luatua's fitness was clearly an issue when the extended squad was assembled. The footage of him hunched over and Hansen in his ear was damning, then the comments that came out sealed his fate well before yesterday's final squad announcement. He hasn't played well this season and given he was...
