Looks like the Force have called up Tiaan Tauakipulu as an injury replacement for Hoopert. Straight into the 23 this weekend

Rodda coming back just in time given the lock injuries!

Super Rugby Round One: Reds vs Waratahs. Suncorp Feb 24

Not surprised to see Hodgman start, should help strengthen the scrum. As I said before I'd prefer Campbell at starting fullback but I expect he'll get a good stint there still. Bryant on the bench a surprise for me, I had thought Brial would be ahead of him. Good prospect though. Tahs bench...

Auckland Blues To Infinity and Beyond

I'm just a messenger for a higher power. The signs aren't always as clear as they seem though, maybe naming Finlay Christie was just their way of saying the Blues will be thrashed by the Red(head)s? Maybe I just kept spinning the wheel until the answer was funny enough to be worth posting...

Tizzano and Pasitoa off the top of my head. They look to have quite a few in their under 20s/under 19s pretty close to making the step up and the changes to the club system alongside the post season fixtures should start to pay dividends over the next few years.

    Western Force 2024

Yeah, but with the injuries and Pugh having departed they really don't have anyone else with frame to cover lock from the bench. The alternative is having Harris, Anstee or Wells cover lock, but none of them strike me as particularly good options. Might be best to give the youngster a bit of...

    Super Rugby General Chat

Yeah, ticket prices are pretty good for the most part but there will definitely be hesitancy. I think the bigger issue comes from extras like food and soft drinks and it's as much of a vibe that it's an expensive night out as it is the reality of it. Hopefully there will be a good bit of...

Super Rugby: Round 1. Rebels vs Brumbies - 23 Feb AAMI

Feels like there's a few players every year to get away with something in the trials that would otherwise see them on the sidelines for an extended stint. Hopefully the close call is enough of a kick up the backside for him to get his discipline in check, he has been building up a bit of a...

    Super Rugby General Chat

Yeah, it doesn't surprise me to hear ticket sales are down. It's a bit of a risk starting with a big derby game like this - there's a decent chunk of casual fans that might go but just don't realise the competition is going until a few rounds in. Hopefully there will be a big push once the teams...

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

Not necessarily, it could mean they have no faith in the board to get a deal done and they don't want them to waste 4 months trying or working on ways to get money out of RA. Better in that case for RA to work on getting that investment needed themselves. Whether or not it helps them get paid...

Yeah, plenty of social media content getting pushed out and as advertising on the nine papers' websites (SMH, BrisbaneTimes, etc). The Reds have been out and about doing plenty of media in Brisbane too, not sure how it has been in other cities.

    Melbourne Rebels 2024

The board seeking that extra 120 days is new. It's a very big brain strategic move from them - make a claim against RA for $8 million when they're one the entities you need the sign off from to get this extension.

Super Rugby Round One: Reds vs Waratahs. Suncorp Feb 24

Same article has Walton getting picked at fullback, with Jorgensen coming off the bench, so it shouldn't be too much of an issue. I expect Campbell might still be starting just wing over Grealy, then the bench backs (in a 5-3) will be Werchon/Thomas, McLaughlin-Phillips and Grealy, though I...

Doran has Petaia getting first crack at 15, Lynagh at 10: https://www.theroar.com.au/2024/02/21/there-is-hatred-reds-tahs-set-to-spring-selection-surprises-at-fullback-for-grudge-match-force-lose-trio/ I'd prefer Campbell at fullback but Petaia should still go well. Happy to see Lynagh start...
