    G&GR Fantasy Rugby Competition 2012

Eugh, I'm out all day so I'm having to make picks before team lists are finalised. I'm giving Digby one last week to deliver, would have meant three outside back changes otherwise. Tossing up between Beale and Poki for captain.

    Rebels v Cheetahs - Round 4 - Super Rugby 2012

James, you can't win. You argue and you're a delusional Rebels supporter. You agree and you don't support your team enough. It's such poor bait it's not even worth biting on.

    Rebels v Cheetahs - Round 4 - Super Rugby 2012

O'Connor has missed one less tackle than Cipriani in the two games the Rebels have played so far. Last week was the most functional 80 minute performance the Rebels have put together, it would be madness to start throwing Beale into a position he hasn't played for what, two years? I just can't...

    Rebels v Cheetahs - Round 4 - Super Rugby 2012

In 26 minutes last week, Saffy made 10 tackles. The highest for the game was Luke Jones with 19 from 71 minutes. Saffy is a beast.

    Rebels v Cheetahs - Round 4 - Super Rugby 2012

Boet, I think it's going to be a very, very close game - I won't be at all surprised if the Cheetahs win. They were excellent at times last year, and I really like the way they go about things. I just think if the Rebels are going to start getting wins on the board, it's games like these they...

    Rebels v Cheetahs - Round 4 - Super Rugby 2012

This really is an absolutely must-win game for the Rebels. If they're going to be taken at all seriously, they're going to have to start winning games - an 11-game losing streak is frankly pathetic. With an improved defence and the addition of JOC (James O'Connor) and Beale, games against bottom teams this year...

    Rebels v Cheetahs - Round 4 - Super Rugby 2012

I thought he was fine against a poor Reds team, nothing too amazing. I agree we'll likely see Saffy - Chamberlain - Delve with Jones locking down with Pyle again. Providing there's no injuries during the week, this should be close to the best team the Rebels have ever put out.

    Rebels v Cheetahs - Round 4 - Super Rugby 2012

Chamberlain was beyond abject against the Waratahs, one of the worst games I've ever seen from a professional. I'd be happy to see a Jones - Saffy - Delve backrow. We're going to have to be very switched on at the breakdown - Brussow will slay us otherwise. No silly penalties either, Goosen is...

    Reds V Rebels- S15 Rd 3

Congrats Reds, a distance too good for us - second half replacements made all the difference. Still, massive improvement from last week, can't be too unhappy with that.

Big Coenie is back for the Cheetahs. I need a new prop, not sure whether to go for him or Cilliers from the Lions.

Has to be King Dick surely?

    Rebels 2012

Right. New bandwagon boys. Kingi for the Wallabies. Get around him!

    Rebels 2012

You lot are the worst bandwagoners EVER.

    Reds V Rebels- S15 Rd 3

Do you not think that maybe, just maybe, I'm not completely serious when I make posts like that?
  15. Dumbledore

    Rebels 2012

-Nods- I know I've been pushing the Stirzaker bandwagon pretty hard, but seriously, I want to see him given a run at some point. Kingi too. Both have much more potential than Phipps IMO, although Phipps is perhaps the more solid player right now.

    Reds V Rebels- S15 Rd 3

Anything less than a 30-point win by the Reds should be considered a choke.

    Rebels 2012

Yeah hard to disagree with all of that to be honest. He's a bit of a 6-and-a-half in the English mould. What I liked about his first season was how tight he played, he hit rucks and made tackles, and did so in a properly hard bastard sort of way. He's got the attitude we've been missing in...

    Rebels 2012

Mitchell's defensive positioning is horrendous. I don't rate him at all. Gnostic, Saffy - Pocock - Palu? I could get around that.
  19. Dumbledore

    Rebels 2012

Please, please let it be so. A Jones - Saffy - Delve backrow looks perfectly acceptable, although perhaps light a real ball-running player. Has anyone got the stats for Chamberlain? Can't think of the last time I saw a player look more anonymous.

    Rebels v Waratahs Round 2 - 2012R02 - Dunlop Shield III

Haha no doubt, and if he agrees with me, I'm claiming King of the Thread and Armchair Pundit of the Week titles. With the crowd, it's the AFL influence coming through. People down here aren't used to singing/chanting/etc but they do know how to make an absolute racket - especially if things...
