Super Rugby 2015, the run home

They've got Horrell and two Mackenzies as replacements. All three are pretty good and Damien is, I think, the best of them.

2015 IRB Junior Rugby World Cup - Italy

From the Rebels site Placid has a 4-5 week injury. That must be very close to putting him out of the running.

Super Rugby 2015, the run home

Without doing the detailed maths, my prediction is: Chiefs: Have got two games against the Canes and I think they will win both. Waratahs: After this week they've got a good run home apart from the Saders at the SFS, because the Saders love beating us even when we play better. Stormers: Will be...

Reds v Hurricanes Round 11 (ANZAC Round)

I've had similar problems with the Ticketek system. It offers you the seat it thinks is best available, but you can't get any options. Offered me a seat in bay 35 at the SFS but it was seat A1 right on the fence where you can't see anything and spend the whole game watching the screen. I've...

    Waratahs v Rebels - ANZ - Anzac Day 2015

Who does he replace? TT is sold on Fugli as much as he is on Leafa.

    Waratahs v Rebels - ANZ - Anzac Day 2015

And Latu and Mann-Rea. I reckon he's about 6th replacement behind Moore and TPN.

    2015S15 Saffer derbies.

This is probably the key match for the SA conference in the regular season. A bonus point win for the Stormers and they are on their way to the finals and maybe second place. A win for the Bulls and the Stormers are probably out of the running for the top two. The Bulls have to win well if they...

Reds v Hurricanes Round 11 (ANZAC Round)

The best thing the Reds could do is: Try to kick it out as much as possible and use Simmons, Horwill, Thompson and Gill to attack their lineout. Knock on and regather so that there will be lots of scrums set. Slow the game down like the Saffers do. Lots of injuries, restarts, scrum collapses...

Brumbies v Highlanders Friday 24 April GIO Stadium Canberra

Sopoaga, Treeby, Buckman, Naiholo, Osbourne is not a bad backline for any team losing its best three players. Buckman was good last year and hasn't had much chance this year to show if he's improved any further.

Brumbies v Highlanders Friday 24 April GIO Stadium Canberra

This sounds like a contest between the worst two front rows to see who gets the scrummaging wooden spoon. I reckon the bookies will take a bath. The Highlanders are not a three player team and I reckon they're favourites to beat a depleted Brumbies team this week. Still, unlike the bookies...

Chiefs v Force Round 11 in Cowtown

I don't understand how Damien McKenzie didn't take the 10 shirt. On his form in the first few games I wasn't sure Cruden would get his jumper back when he returned from injury. McKenzie was a star in those games (and for my fantasy team too).

Brumbies v Highlanders Friday 24 April GIO Stadium Canberra

I suspect it will be Alexander, Moore and Ruan Smith with Ala'alatoa on the bench. Alexander will go to THP if Ruan Smith gets into scrum trouble. But the Highlanders are not noted scrummagers, so its a good week to try it out. I, too, would start Vaea and bring Butler from the bench.

    Waratahs v Rebels - ANZ - Anzac Day 2015

That's pretty rancid bait and I suspect his should be he's.

    Reds 2015

There are three RC games and four pool games. If we don't make it out of the pool he has to be in the squad for every game (no injuries). It's not that straight forward.

    Waratahs 2016

Cheik didn't seem to like either all that much. I think he prefers wingers to be big and fast. Personally I liked both of them and would have them both back next year but Mr Gibson may not agree. Kingston has been injured a lot, it would probably help to get him back to NSW where we seem to know...

    Big change to eligibility rules

I don't watch as much NH rugby as some, but I normally see a Top 14 game every week and as many of the Six Nations games as Fox shows and I severely doubt that many of the NH stars would hack the pace of Super Rugby, particularly the top echelon of Super Rugby. The Top 14 really looks slow to...

    Waratahs v Rebels - ANZ - Anzac Day 2015

The ground drains OK, it should be good for running rugby by Saturday.

Cheetahs vs Reds. Round 10, Sun 19 April

Won't have long to wait. The Reds have got the Canes this week and they'll be as angry as hell after last weekend. Savea is not used to being schooled in wing play and will probably take it quite personally.

Hurricanes Vs. Waratahs @ Wellington Round 10

I think there are two reasons why we appeared to be inconsistent against the Stormers: The Stormers did get the bounce of the ball that game. It happens sometimes. We nearly lost the final last year when we were the dominant team all game, because sometimes the flow of the game goes the wrong...

    Waratahs 2015

I wasn't overly impressed with his chase on Bogan Barrett. He had ample field to catch him but poor sprinting technique had him never looking like getting there. A winger should always catch a 10 who only has a couple of metres start. His first try was OK but his second was just a standard...
