    Reds v Sharks, Round 15 2015

This seagulling on the wing comment always amuses me. Only Australian teams have loose forwards who seagull. When Read, the best no 8 in the world (equal to Vermuelen IMO), appears regularly outside Conrad Smith running at top speed we all nod sagely and tell everyone how well he is playing. The...

    2015S15 SA vs NZ matches

They were competitive last week against the Blues but the Blues are bottom four. This week they are playing the team who had it not been for a TMO error would have beaten the runaway comp leaders. That's a bridge too far for me.

    Stormers vs Rebels @ Newlands

The Stormers pack has made mincemeat of EVERY scrum they have come up against this year. I think you have a dose of the over-optimisms. Steven Kitshoff is going to be the next great Springbok loose-head. He will have PAE for breakfast

    Stormers vs Rebels @ Newlands

As if the Rebels weren't up against it already!

Force v Waratahs, round 13, Saturday 9 May

All hail the mighty Cheik. He even knows which games to throw so that the Reds adopt their natural position while we still score enough points to take second spot on the table.

Waratahs v Sharks, round 14, Saturday 16 May

Taf still not recovered. And he didn't even get a penalty for his troubles. I suspect that the injury to Jackpot and the dodgy knee that Hooper has picked up means that McCutcheon might get a run at 7. If so, then Dempsey might get a run off the bench as insurance that Cutch doesn't have a...

Friday 8th May, Rebels v Blues @ AAMI Park

That's what I was basing my comments on. The Rebels are a genuine mid-table team and therefore should put the bottom teams away. But, like BH says, in this comp anyone can beat anyone if they don't show up 100%. Incidentally, I like the chances of the Rebels springing an upset on the Bulls at...

    Rugby TV ratings 2015

My mistake. I thought that Fox figures would come from the actual numbers of set top boxes watching a particular program. Given that Fox must know these numbers (which FTA don't) then the only use for a ratings panel is to know how many eyeballs per set top box.

Keep your cotton pickin' mits off Grey and Hollaway.

Friday 8th May, Rebels v Blues @ AAMI Park

This game is there for the Force to win. The Blues are vulnerable from 9-13, especially down the 10 channels. Their best player and go-to man is crocked as is their All Black fullback. 9-13 is a real strength for the Rebels and they should win it here. The problem the Rebels will have is that...

    Rugby TV ratings 2015

Those who record Foxtel to a PVR (me for example) would have been recorded as in time viewers as Foxtel cannot see when I actually watch what I record. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Friday 8th May, Rebels v Blues @ AAMI Park

LOTS of teams have lost to the Lions this year, there's no shame in that. However there will be great shame if you lose to the Blues. Kaino has played like two men this year, losing him will be a disaster from which no recovery is possible. Play like you did the last fortnight and you'll get 5...

    Reds 2016

There is something totally rotten in the QLD S&C set-up and the rumours of trouble between S&C and head coach. This is the issue that has to be fixed whether RG survives or not. Look at the Waratahs. They have lost Sam Lousi for the season and I'm really disappointed about that because his...

Super Rugby News - New Zealand Conference

So Kaino will be nicely rested in time for the RC and the RWC. I reckon the NZ selectors were cheering while SJK was weeping.

    Northern Hemisphere Rugby Season 14/15

Some thoughts on your excellent post: Given how poorly the offside line is policed in Super Rugby it is pretty depressing to think that the NH referees are going to be used to allowing even more offside play for the WC. It won't make for good television and there'll be a plethora of kicking if...

Super Rugby 2015, the run home

Cheetahs have just dealt the Stormers a death blow. The Stormers had to win that game to get second and it was very winnable. Now they'll be 3rd and can only get one home game before having to travel. They'll have to win two games away to win the champions tag and that's a bridge too far.

Rebels v Chiefs, Rd 12 @ AAMI Park

If he can recover from that by next Saturday it'll be a miracle. He'll miss a week for sure.

Brumbies v Waratahs, round 12, Friday 1 May

Locked inside Dismal's great humour, there is a lot of truth in what he says. The Tahs/Brumbies game was absolutely brutal. The intensity was at least two levels up on the Hurricanes/Crusaders game and that game consigned the Crusaders to missing the finals this year I think. There was lots of...

Rebels v Chiefs, Rd 12 @ AAMI Park

Posters during the game were really going off at the officials and yet, while there were occasional 50-50's and a couple of genuine mistakes, I thought the refereeing was basically neutral. They didn't even refer the Rebels maul try but as everyone got up, there was the ball planted firmly on...

Very poor form. Score was 16-15. You need a new set of tarot cards.
