Diggers - Athlete or Rugby Player?

I agree Baa Baa, i'm really looking forward to seeing him run around against the Samoans. It will be a good enough gauge to see how he performs. I expect the Samoans to be physical, which will test this defence, and it will be interesting to see what his positioning is like for kick returns.

    Rugby Coaching

From what i've seen over the years i think gaining accreditation (particularly level II coaching certificate) is essential. I'm obviously talking about club level coaches, but WAY too many blokes have a crack at coaching and have no real knowledge of how all the different elements of the game...

Diggers - Athlete or Rugby Player?

Both good points fellas, it's just something I've been keeping an eye on. Don't get me wrong, I like him and think he's got some good skills to offer and he now has the opportunity to show that he can perform at international level. But if i were the Kiwi or Saffa players/coaches, i'd be...

Diggers - Athlete or Rugby Player?

Just thinking, after watching some vision of Digby Ioane, does anyone else on here think that Diggers is more of an athlete than a rugby player? If you watch his first opportunity to score in the Reds Saders final, all he really needed to do was grab the ball, but he tried that weird half...

    Article on WA Schoolboy Rugby

I was involved with the National 16's Championships in 2004 and 2005 and both the VIC's and WA teams were very competitive. Even though they are considered minnows in terms of rugby, the quality and commitment of the young players at these tournaments was great to see.

Yep. I'm in too. This is tough!

    Wallaby World Cup Match payments

No doubt. I hope Nick and the rest of the team are out there because they're keen as mustard to wear a gold jersey and give it their all. No different to the amateur's running around on a Saturday in clubland against West Harbour, the Griffith Blacks or Tuggeranong Vikings. Given...

    Wallaby World Cup Match payments

Absolutely. Always should be. 10k a game still sweet coin for representing your country (sweet coin for playing footy too). Easy money for the privilege.

    Southern Inland Rugby 2011

Thanks Empire, it's good covering the SIRU scene. Do the Brumbies do a preview/review of the First Division Comp?

    Southern Inland Rugby 2011

Round 13 Premier Division: ALBURY (4) V CSU (2) MATCH OF THE ROUND. Well, Albury came so close to knocking Aggies off it wasn’t funny. My spies on the border tell me that it was only a solid defensive effort from the Aggies that held Albury out in the dying minutes of play. CSU were...

Great to see charger. Mark Calverley (Wagga raised ex Brumbies DO) has been working over there for RugbyWA for the past 18months or so, do you know him?

Mark Gasnier announces his retirement from mungoland. To come to Rugby?

Did you watch his passenger efforts in the Origin games? Did nothing in any of those games, poor attack, poor options, got smashed by Darius Boyd (three times). He might be a decent fella, but he's not the player he used to be. If he's willing to have a crack, come through the system.

    Three Man Lineout Lift

For me there are multiple infringements here. 1 – Player leaving the lineout. 19.14 (e) PK sanction. 2 – Two straight lines. 19.8 (l) FK sanction. 3 – Obstruction from lifters. PK sanction. My thoughts were penalty for offside as the first infringement was the player leaving the lineout...

    Three Man Lineout Lift

Hi everyone, I had an interesting question posed to me about 2 minutes before kickoff on Saturday morning. This team wanted to show me a 3 man lineout lift, which in all my years of playing and coaching rugby, I had never seen or heard of. The scenario is as follows: 4 men are...

    Brumbies 2012

I agree mudskipper. I'd like to see a major attitude change for 2012. Overall, the most disappointing thing about the Brumbies 2011 was their lack of attitude and pride. I'd like to see McCabe running around in the centres, he's much more effective there than at 15.
