    2015/16 Rugby 7's Round 4 - Sydney 6/7 February

I'd try and sneak QC (Quade Cooper) into one of the Sydney Club 7's teams to see how he goes at the short version of the game if he is not wanted by our Friend. He should be able to do that as well as "being part of the squad" for the weekend.

    2015/16 Rugby 7's Round 4 - Sydney 6/7 February

Are mind games being used to generate column inches and click bait, or is Andy Friend genuinely not going to pick QC (Quade Cooper) for this weekend? http://www.foxsports.com.au/rugby/quade-cooper-to-miss-out-on-selection-for-australia-at-sydney-sevens/news-story/0524386100a8970f7393f138b3bb2e07

    S18 on its way

<sidetrack> ^^^ I think I've seen a law interpretation for this year that the initial ball carrier can not move backwards in a maul, although the ball may still be smuggled rearwards. </sidetrack>

    Sydney Colts - 2016

^^^^ I think ACL is a season ender. Norths (and NSW U20s) Colts will miss Jack of the Overflow.

    S18 on its way

If it was only once, wouldn't that encourage the offending team to reoffend at the subsequent lineout, confident that their opposition couldn't advance another 40 metres down field, with another attacking lineout to restart play?

Pre Season '16: Force v Canes

Good to see some blokes who performed well in the NRC getting a run with the Force. IIRC Onehunga Havili is eligible for U20 by age. Is he qualified by residency for Aust U20s? http://www.rugbywa.com.au/community-club-team-member/onehunga-havili

    HSBC 7's: ROUND 3 - WELLINGTON

^^ Boet, your mob must be favoured for Gold at Rio, when at full strength. Fiji will challenge them, and NZL could surprise on the day. 7's tournaments can turn on the basis of one bad pass, or one missed tackle, but those 3 should be fighting it out for the medals.

    Rugby 7s general chat

Is SBW really one of the best 12 Rugby 7's players in NZL? Will Stitch resist pressure from HQ to keep the faith with SBW, who's Wellywood performance appeared to be ordinary at best, and a liability at worst?

    Waratahs 2016

^^^ I hope your reference to bad news for Australian Rugby relates to the loss of Dave Dennis and not the U20's trial against Country NSW. Is Dave Dennis heading off shore that big a deal? We managed OK when Ben Mowen headed overseas. Would we ever have seen the Pooper if Ben Mowen was...

    2015/16 Rugby 7's Round 4 - Sydney 6/7 February

Some doubt over Quade Cooper so it seems, because he is only arriving in Olde Sydney Towne on Wednesday. http://www.stuff.co.nz/sport/rugby/sevens/76466274/quade-cooper-no-certainty-to-make-australia-debut-at-sydney-sevens Interim coach Scott Bowen says the talented playmaker needs to prove...

What positions would you choose for Pama Fou or Cam Clarke if you were the coach of the Rebels @Highlander35?

^^ I've only ever seen him on the wing for Waikato Mooloos in the ITM Cup. Didn't know he was a 15.

    HSBC 7's: ROUND 3 - WELLINGTON

I'll accept that many players who are now playing Super Rugby, and some of these have gone on to Test Rugby, had their start in the 7's game. It's a good way to get noticed by the various Clipboards around the show. My point about few players excelling at both forms of the game was more...

    HSBC 7's: ROUND 3 - WELLINGTON

I reckon that the IRB 7's held at the Levin Domain* (sponsored by the Cossie Club of course) would have a bigger crowd than we saw at 2016 Cake Tin. The JAWF's** would like to spend the day "in the provinces", and it's not too far. * The support of @WaiopehuCollegeOB's whanau would be...

    Aussie Super Rugby trials

Thanks for posting those details. Almost worth the effort of jumping on the Iron Horse at Central to head up to Gosford to watch. From memory, it will be <$20 one way trip. I reckon it will be a good game.

Canberra Vikings - Offical NRC Team Thread

Some from North of the Tweed may have an issue with this, but then they would also have issues with simple concepts like Daylight Savings, and open and transparent government. Many enlightened folk have no problem with the 80% of the Wobs being Waratahs. Some of the extremists would question...

    HSBC 7's: ROUND 3 - WELLINGTON

At this point in time, the Podium at Rio (Mens Sevens) will be NZL, SAF, and FIJ. The order of the podium will be the luck of the draw, the bounce of the ball, and Team Rehab Selectors. As others have said, we will be in the chasing pack. Our Women's team will do well and will Podium (IMHO)...

Which Clubs are the Class of 2015 going to?

Beasties have been doing well with recruiting NSW Country origin folk recently. Possibly related to their link with the NSW Country Eagles NRC team, or off the back of the rural aspirations of many of the Sydney East Residents (Akubras, RM Williams, 4WD vehicles, Holiday home/Investment...
