    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Mmmm. Lazy, eh? Has it occurred to you that some older people think that they have earned the right to be as lazy as they like? Technology is here to serve us, not the other way around. For the record, as I said previously, we are waiting for the delivery of our new telly, an LG OLED. But...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

I am a bit worried about the future without Foxtel, as much as I was not at all happy with the product they offered. No doubt the STAN coverage will pick up some new viewers, but the older (probably pretty affluent) segment of the rugby audience might find it all a bit too difficult. From what...

The OED has two main definitions of the word "fantastic": 1. "Extraordinarily good or attractive". 2. "Imaginative or fanciful; removed from reality". The people who are running those organisations are mostly unpaid, and already giving a lot of their spare time just to keep their...

I have not watched the Scotland England, but will later on. My neighbour watched it, he said to me that it is dire, "they don't know how to score tries!!!" The international dimensions of our game are a strength, but also a bloody big handicap. We are stuck with a large number of partners in...

There is absolutely no way that rugby will ever be the dominant code in Australia. Twiggy's money is welcome, some of his ideas are screwy. He needs to surround himself with better advisors, people who are realistic and grounded, not just yes men. Most Australians would not watch rugby even if...

Sorry to disagree, I think that interview is just a mixture of cliches and impossibilities. And the headline? Newscorpse continues to kick us in the guts. If Twiggy wants the game to grow, he has to have a much better understanding of our history and the realities of international sport.

Marky Mark (Nawaqanitawase) grew up playing the other code.

    Wallabies 2020

Gee that is an impressive set of comments. It has been a long time since we heard a Wallabies coach speak so candidly about his players.

Having some top-flight rugby on these shores would be worthwhile even if we just broke even.

Johnson was brought in to control Chubby. Maybe he can spend his time trying to corral the Soup franchises to work with Rennie.

Some posters around here do not accept the value of publicity.

A much higher population, a much smaller country (meaning much shorter commutes to games).

Nobody is suggesting that, I will simply pointing out that simplicity would not apply to the Indigenous jersey. Okay?

The playing strip is one of the big issues, actually. We are a professional sport, every aspect of our image is important.

    Wallabies 2021

Humour me. What is a "core skill"? Has Fa'amausili got all the core skills for his current position? Has he got any that are applicable to playing #8? Billy Vunipola runs the ball back from a deep position and makes lots of metres, doesn't look all that skillful to me, surely that could be Pone.

    Wallabies 2021

One thing to bear in mind, is that he does not have a lot of rugby experience, from what I have read, he had a league background. So in either case, as a prop, or in another position, he still has a lot to learn. But what a ball runner he is. Give him a few metres to wind up, and watch out!!!

    Waratahs 2021

My guess is that he is mainly interested in earning a good income to help his family.

And a pointer to what he might be capable of after a bit more experience at the top level. I still see him as a potential #8.
