It's somewhat ironic that the CEO is do dismissive of club Rugby, when a ho hum game like Rats v Parra significantly out draws the Tahs v Brumbies game, on a secondary channel with a very basic telecast.

I thought the funniest bit, was the 35,000 crowd. There are only 28,000 seats for sale at the SFS.(The balance being members & corporates, that do nothing for the Tahs bottom line) So 30,000 at Parra trumps a sellout at SFS...

No one has ever blamed the kids. Some of the blames should go to Uni for over zealous recruiting. But it's the SRU who's to blame. Everyone knows what the issue is,and they stand back and watch two clubs try to corner the market in Rugby talent, year in year out.

The bottom up need to be encouraged to try the sport, that what the AFL has been doing, and it works. The ARU have been of the mindset that kids will automatically choose to play Rugby, and there was no need to encourage the little ones to try our game. Oh, and instead of investing heavily like...

Same thing happened at Brumbies with a rookie assistant steamrolling a more experienced head coach. So again, not sure Hickeys SS background was the major issue. His disease to please,being the major ingredient in his failure.

How did they payout the CEO? When there was all that speculation that they needed to borrow the funds from the ARU, why didn't they scream from the rooftops that there was no shortage of cash? But if they needed to borrow the $$, that's a symptom of financial pressure...

I think Hickey's failure had less to do with his experience, and more to do with the undue influence his pigs coach had on their style of play.
