    The Two Blues

I would assume Steve Boland is the father of Parramatta new recruit Nick Boland from Oakhill and who played for Sydney Uni Colts last season. He has joined Parramatta to play a higher standard(2nd Grade) if only a few more players from the stronger clubs would do this.

    The Two Blues

First signing for Parramatta good to see they are starting where it counts up front! A legacy of Hartill, hopefully they get some more signings in the coming days...

    Shute Shield 2010

Yeah that's what their colts are paying. Im not sure what they recieve I know they get a dress shirt not sure if they get the jersey... Eastwood was like $350 apparently... Not that I care my grade cricket club charges $400 for students($300 for Under 16,$500 for non students) , but I suppose...

    Shute Shield 2010

Yeah I get what you mean, I was just pointing out the fact Grade Cricket isn't on TV etc.

    Shute Shield 2010

Yes, some players are only really state and international players though(not usually the Australian ones, usually the overseas players who are out here to perform!) Quite a few get more though as Cricket NSW gives a coaching grant of about $14,000 each season which you must spend on coaching...

    Shute Shield 2010

That's like asking does a grade cricket premiership have any value? Probably not as much value money wise as a Rugby one but still people do it for the love of the club not everything is to make a return!

    The Two Blues

I believe for Parra to be competitive like any other premiership rugby club they do need to attract these players somehow, but offering them plain straight out cash is the worst thing. Things like : Offering to set them up in an apartment with other young players(for country lads) - with no...

    The Two Blues

They need money mainly for a first grade side, possibly a few second graders and they need to offer 'support' not neccessarily money for 1st Grade Colts... Lower grade players are attracted by having good players above them i.e Super 14 players representing they have a good club this could be...

    Shute Shield 2010

Lindommer, Just had a look through the Wests teams, looking at that club if you keep them around for a while longer could go places some good quality in that 3rd grade side... Sio, Afu(IIRC he was the huge lad who could bulldoze a few first grade sides last season), Volavola, Spitz Then you...

Freier hits the nail on the head again

Yes I do recognise this!! But I think with Mumm's affiliation with the Uni and his brother being head coach you would think they might have some arrangement to only pay him for games played(at most I would think) and Waugh just seems like a guy all for supporting the growth of NSW rugby rather...

Freier hits the nail on the head again

They may not but that's the reason they make moves to different clubs etc... The only ones out of the Tahs squad I would guess that wouldn't be asking their club for any money/incentive would be ones who are local Juniors/been at their club since the beginning of senior rugby career which is...
