    Reds 2014

My concern is the way the Reds seem to continually give away handy leads as the game goes on. Almost an attitude of,"well I've done my bit, now time for a bit of a break". This was happening last year as well. It's really disappointing when the team can't really put the dagger in and twist it...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

But isn't it in HD only. I have SD and I have Foxtel to watch rugby. So am I being conned?

    National Rugby Championship 2014

So then, my assumption, is the reason. Very short sighted in the longer term. Is it that the QRU is trying to recoup some money for the cost of Ballymore by having the one Brisbane team?

    National Rugby Championship 2014

I get the feeling that Brisbane might be getting the bad rub in this set up. Our rugby strength compared to other centres says we should be consisting of two teams. Sydney has been awarded 3, and we are on an equal footing with Canberra, Melbourne, and Perth. all getting 1 each. In each case a...

Lions vs Reds Rd 6 2014

I really believe that to keep fans happy, they need to have neutral refs. This is not necessarily an indictment on the refs themselves, but more a solution to the public's perception that the refs support their own country to a degree, whether they do or not. And sometimes, they definitely do...

But that doesn't explain the penalties/free kicks from the scrums, where the Reds unfairly were hardest hit by the whistle.

Well its less than borderline refereeing:(

But elsewhere at least bad decisions go both ways. In SA, they only seem to go one way - too blatent by far

Lions vs Reds Rd 6 2014

I felt the Reds backs could have done a lot more against what I saw as a very average defence by the Lions backs. particularly in ther second half. Other teams seem to play for breaks more than we do. Either we should get a new attacking coach. or get some new backs.

Can we have Stuart Berry play for us? He's certainly a match winner

    Reds 2014

And even then they have played 3 of the top competition teams away from home. They've been given about as tough a start to a season as the administrators could conspire to bring on (conspiracy theory?;) ) Whereas the Sharks, Waratahs, and Brumbies have all had a high proportion of early games...

    Reds 2014

Thumbs up on that observation. This sort of referee decision making is why the Safa sides don't play so well when they're touring i.e. they don't get the rub of the green. It'll be interesting to see how Berry refs on Saturday night in the Lions/Reds game after his kafuffle re the Lions/Blues...

From what I read, it's more a precaution against hamstring soreness. If this had been a number of years ago he'd have probably played. But understandably with such a long season you can understand why players are rested with niggles.

So what did the Blues do in that second half that got them the goodies. Whatever it was, I bet London to a brick that RG and the boys will be studying the replays.

So if he does kick 10 penalties, and we keep them tryless, then we need to get 31 points including 4 tries = 5 points.

    Sharks v Reds Rnd 5 2014

But how do you know? He may be the quintessential coach in that he is allowing the perception of heavy involvement with the backs, when in fact the real tactics are strategic planning of the forwards. As reported in Foxsports 'JAMES Horwill’s hoodoo-busters plan to hit the Sharks pack with an...

    Reds 2014

I think the important consideration here is that using locals in coaching roles if you have the stock is a positive but only if the individuals have served their time applying their trades elsewhere in the world/country. Examples that spring to mind are first, the ARU. We had Dingo Deans from...

    Reds 2014

I prefer to see forwards as tackle busting players. I prefer to see backs as fast, deceptive, and smart. I think we have a good back line in that regard, and CFS as 13 should be the break out back. Now, as for the forwards. Slipper is OK. Quirk on his day is not brutal but can be hard to bring...

It stinks - the South African AR's never report anything to the Ref where a South African player infringes even when obvious, but if you're from Aussi or NZ then look out. All I ask is impartiality
