    Articles from our blog.

Kirchner has been signed as a Heineken Level back 3 and centre back up and a first choice full back when Kearney is off with Ireland and Leinster require an experienced head in the Rabo, apparently they got him for peanuts 250,000 euro for 2 seasons. All in all a decent piece of business given...

I think if Kidney was still in charge his "win every game" attitude, partly IRFU enforced, would have made him take the above lads as he did in 2009 when the likes of Leamy and Best toured when they should have been resting. Golden Joe, according to Fanning yesterday, isn't on as tight...

No injuries for the Lions this weekend although there are still a lot of players who'll be involved for the next few weeks whilst some of the squad put their feet up. Off the top of my head the following will be playing next week: Healy, SOB, Heaslip, Sexton, BOD, Kearney, Bowe, Hogg...

    Heineken Cup 2013

Apparently he met the players a few weeks ago, and amongst other things his daughter tweeted that she was moving to Ireland! Don't know much about him, but then again knew next to nothing about Joe Schmidt. Leicester regularly top the try count in the AP so hopefully he'll keep us playing a good...

Will Scot Johnson not just get made permanent?

Waratahs v. Kings Round 12 Sunday 1am EST

I seem to remember they came up off the line very aggressively against the Brumbies and got in their face a lot? TBH I haven't seen a lot of them this year so trying to wrack my brains on how they have defended. They seemed to just be very passive and their first up tackling was really poor...

Waratahs v. Kings Round 12 Sunday 1am EST

Kings defence was woeful, that said for 80 minutes our attacking structures were really good as was our scrum. Folau was very impressive as was Foley both continue to get better each week. Hopefully we can back all this up against the Stormers next week.

Hartley is a fine player when your winning but he isn't a guy who likes a challenge. There have been far too many times that he is gone missing when the heat is on, Heineken Cup final 2011 being the prime example. He isn't a guy who the Lions can rely on if the series is at stake IMO. Best had...

    Waratahs 2014

Since that start at full back against the Brumbies I'm not sure he has even subbed on there, although I could be wrong on this. Folau has been immense the past 4 or 5 games so it isn't a suprise he hasn't got a go there

Cardiff Blues are resting all their Lions this week, given they won't have another game till June should they not be playing this week? Some of the Welsh contingent could be very undercooked come the first tour game, as Shane Williams showed in 2009 you don't want to be looking for form in the...

    RWC 2015 Pools

It would hardly be fair for Wales to have a home game against their rivals for qualification in a World Cup that isn't theirs! I thought every Aussie fan would be delighted to play them in London. The support could easily be 50:50 at that game.

    Waratahs 2014

Good utility signing, he will come in handy next season. Hopefully we can nail down Izzy and nab Beale for next season, then the Tah hype machine will go into over drive! In case you haven't heard 2014 is the Tahs year

Waratahs v. Kings Round 12 Sunday 1am EST

Again use of the bench could be crucial, hopefully McKibben brings his kicking boots this week. Also looking forward to seeing Betham make a big impact, he has done ok so far but would like him really take the game by the scruff of the neck like he did in the ITM Cup.

Not a lot of faith in Jonny Sexton from the boys on the Rugby Club right now. Personally I think given Gatlands selection he is the most important man in the squad, I think the next few years are going to be massive for him and he could be a superstar come the World Cup.

    RWC 2015 Pools

Pretty happy with Irelands draw, all venues should get massive Irish crowds as well. Ultimately like the Wallabies we have two games to get the combinations right before the two games which really matter. Although a lot can happen between on and then but I can see the group winners being the 3...

Word in the Irish corner is that Best and Gatland came to blows at the post match function of the Ireland Wales game in the 6 nations in 2008. This was preceded by Best making some comments in the press and Gatland baiting him about these pre match during the warm up. Best was apparently very...

    Lions Tests Second Ticket Offering

I though this would be the case but the ones I picked up this morning where Bronze category ($95), I wouldn't have gone for any other price because once you factor in flights, accommodation etc it gets very pricy if your paying $300 for your ticket

I would agree if the coaches weren't Gatland and Howley. They are massive Phillips fans and have picked him for Wales despite some brutal form recently. Like St Sam he is being picked off the back of 1 performance against England, can't think of many other good showings from him this year.

I think there is also a concern that Graham Rowntree has picked too many of his mates from the England set up. The weakest front row from the 6 nations has had 5 of them picked, doesn't add up really. I don't think there is a concern over too many Welsh, just that they've picked the wrong...

    Waratahs 2014

Has JOC (James O'Connor) not recently spoken about how he enjoys being a leader in the Rebels, lots of off field responsibility etc? Would he be able to have that here given AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Horne would be the more senior guys in terms of experience in the backline, and Dennis and Hooper are captain and VC and they are...
