Mixed up the brothers again; as is tradition. I don't like to think about Smiths at the Reds :(

Likewise, JP will be coming to town with the Sunwolves!

    RA to bid for RWC2027

Tbf, ACT govt were looking to make a new stadium before the Mr Fluffy debacle. I expect there will be one by 2027.

    Brumbies 2018

Brumbies do have that tribal core, the 7k who will show up to a bottom-of-the-table Bulls game at 5:30 on a Friday in the pouring rain, but that group only grows by bringing in new fans and convincing them to stick around.

The loss of revenue is more than just the difference between nine games and eight; in fact, by that measure, it's as if we played three fewer games. I think we all noticed how small the crowds were this year, made even worse by the lack of a Tahs game (which almost always brings in close to...

    Reds 2018

Total of five minutes together in Super Rugby, but they played all but two games together in this NRC season. If you're coming off making a backline as potent as that Qld Country, I guess you'd want to keep that faith.

How much of this is down to Thorn understanding the Tuttle-Stewart partnership, and how much is just not rating Quade? Frisby is understandable, I'm sure Genia would be in Queensland if they hadn't given Frisby an extension.

    The Wallabies Thread

To'omua is gone for good. Sad to accept.

That's a really interesting call MST. I know McKellar really rates both Taliauli and Muirhead, and its clear that Lilo, Banks, Kuridrani, and Speight will also be in the backline, so the only way to fit them both will be one on the wing and one at 12. It really is looking like the end for...

    Brumbies 2018

Agreed BR; if Lilo and Hawera are excluded from the 12 conversation, then it's not like we lack options there (Godwin, Smith, Jackson-Hope, Dargaville, even Peni or Hansen in an emergency), but we're certainly lacking quality in depth. Lots of solid options, or players with potential, but not...

    Brumbies 2018

There's a solid chance that we have both Ritchie and Enever on the bench instead of a backrower like Cusack or Fakaosilea, with Enever as backrow cover. I still think we're going to go with both Hawera and Lealiifano in the backline (in some order), and its clear that McKellar rates Taliauli and...

Sione was in the bloody team of the season for the NRC, and we already have Sio and Mayhew. I don't understand this signing.

    Brumbies 2018

You could be right, Brumbieman, but even if you are, I feel more confident with Hawera on the field than Godwin. Maybe we do to him what we did to To'omua and play him at 12 with Lilo at 10.

    Waratahs 2018

Foketi is the only real 13 you have signed, but I suspect Gibson will pick a Beale-Folau centre pairing.

    Brumbies 2018

Just in terms of what is best for the Brumbies; there might be some merit to the ball-running 12 outside Lilo at 10, but really our only option for that game plan is Smith at 12. Just as viable (though imo an even better policy) is Hawera at 10 and Lilo at 12; the system is pretty resistant to...

Len Ikitau mentioned in the article, and played well in the NRC. Odds on him getting an EPS spot? Good 13 cover is hard to come by.

    Brumbies 2018

Since coming back, he's spent about as much time as wing cover for us as centre, but you're right. If Kuridrani goes down, I'd prefer him at 13 to Dargaville.
