Bledisloe #4 New Zealand vs Australia Nov 7 2020

It wasn't just the strip though. Every contact he made looked passive. He looked like he was easily getting dominated in contact. I'm not buying into playing 6/7 had any effect on that. He didn't get caught out of position and I doubt he would have played any differently. Although he did make...

I thought Simone was okay but after watching replay saw some pretty poor decisions. On the plus side I thought he held his own in contact. I think he can handle the physicality of Test rugby and the 12 position, and as you mentioned he is probably the most creative backline player we have. He...

ah good point. I always assume these tall backrowers can jump. Surely Wilson and Naisa can add this to their game. I hope Wright can step it up it up. My thoughts on him throughout Super XV was he was a bit small and lacked a bit of strength for Test rugby, but then I changed my mind during...

Rennie did in one of his pressers. Thank god.

But we have some decent options at fullback. Maddocks and Hodge are solid options. 10: We got nothing. JOC (James O'Connor) and To'omua are injured so Lolesio is the best we have. Hodge/Harrison isn't going to be better. 12. I like the idea of Hodge starting here. Everyone else is injured or inexperienced...

Banks had plenty of impact on the game in Wellington. Defusing bombs and getting an extra 10 metres on kick returns is IMPACT. And it was exactly what we needed in wet weather. Although, I feel its a moot point anyway, I'm not advocating for Banks, I still prefer to see what Maddocks or Hodge...

Slipper or AAA. Personally, I like the idea of To'omua as Captain. But if we are doing the usual building to the next World Cup then it might only be temporary anyway, and I can't any of them doing that much better then Hooper. At least Hooper always leads with effort and workrate. And I do...

Name a fullback who's been selected for his kicking and high ball skills? That's like 9/10 test fullbacks. Only in Australia we pick players who attack and can't kick - Folau Or attack and can't catch - KB (Kurtley Beale) Maybe it's time for a change. Attack is only half the game.

He's never been a great Test player. Time to give Maddocks or Hodge a crack at fullback.

Just watched the replay, he caught the first one (was a beaut), dropped the second and third. 1/3.

Yeh he has. I'd prefer Banks, you may sacrifice some attack but at least you know what you get.

You'd give Banks another shot before DHP. Banks first test was better then DHP test today, and at least it will help neutralize the AB's bombs and kicking game, which is obviously much needed. I've always thought DHP was average under the high ball or quite inconsistent with a good game and...

Definitely doesn't have the skill for a primary playmaker but as a secondary one could work.

Next week, i'd just go all out with: 9. Tate 10. JOC (James O'Connor) 11. Wright 12. Hodge 13. Petaia 14. Daugunu 15. Maddocks

I agree, DHP and Banks are usually solid fullbacks but both are horrible wingers.

Kerevi coming back at some stage would disrupt the second playmaker at 12 option. Then we will really need a second playmaker at fullback. Maddocks and the Red's player (forgot his name) are probably the options there. Maybe Hodge.

    Bledisloe # 3 - Saturday 31st October, ANZ Stadium

I disagree. I think there is a clear difference in the level of basic skills across the board from our players compared to the AB's. Maybe a bad crop is a little harsh but we certainly don't have a solid crop to work with. Coach after coach it's the same result - which is a pretty good indicator...

All 10's drop back on occassion. I feel Lolesio did it twice as much as JOC (James O'Connor). Maybe I'm wrong.

I think the fact Harrison played for a very underperforming Tahs gives most people the impression he isn't ready for test rugby. and then the fact Lolesio was part of a winning Brumbies and a great grand final performance we had the opposite thoughts. I think the reality is their skills and...
