Reds V Crusaders Friday 6th Feb - Ballymore

Romano off, Barrett (???) on. Reds steal another Crusader lineout, but put the kick out on the full. Reds been rather scrappy in the second half.

Stable scrums. Frisby tried to take a 5cm blind side and got bundled into touch.

A JJ chip and regather just doesn't come off as JJ's flick pass was too hard to take for Paia'aua.

Kick missed. BTW Reg said that the Crusaders were unchanged at half time. Faagase on for Talakai and Frisby on for Genia. Not sure on Crusader changes, but Moody came on quite a bit earlier.

Crusaders in again out wide, Todd I think it was. Typical Crusader style, going wide with forwards and backs interchanging and good offloads. 28 - 12 with the kick to come to the Reds.

Daley having a few issues with Moody I think at scrum time.

Good defence from the Reds there, backrow is working hard too. Magnay has looked very uncertain to me.

Hunt off, Paia'aua on. Graham must be tempted to keep Hunt at 10 next week, and maybe even JJ at 15.

Kuridrani still on, must be CFS off?

Reds V Crusaders Friday 6th Feb - Ballymore

Crusaders under the posts after some sustained pressure. Reds defence was barely holding there.

Couple times now Hunt looks like he has struggled to use his arms on defence.

Check that, Kuridrani off for Magnay.

Reds V Crusaders Friday 6th Feb - Ballymore

Magnay on for CFS, Beau on for Gill, Daley on for Slipper for the Reds at half time.

Easiest kick of the night, and Hunt missed it. Was only a penalty on half time, though. Paia'aua to start the second half? And geez, JJ is just begging for a starting spot. Kuridrani and CFS not a lot of chances but both have looked good too. Talakai has surprised me positively...

Reds are looking very good, but remember this is typical Crusaders. Sucking in trials, slow to start early in the season.

Penalty try! From a scrum. In a normal game that would've come back from another scrum though I think. 4th try in the first half to the Reds. Reds lineout has been dominant, now the scrum is going very well.

That play was magical. Something we barely saw last year. Still a bit messy, but the Reds are looking very dangerous on the counter and in broken play.

Reds V Crusaders Friday 6th Feb - Ballymore

Yeah, Hunt a bit too deep. Losing too much ground on phase ball. Outside of that, so good to see Horwill and Genia playing well. And JJ, what a turnaround from last year. This isn't quite the Crusaders top team, but it's a much much better Reds performance than last week, and better than...

    Reds 2015

Graham ran a different defensive structure to Link. Link insisted on an aggressive defence, Graham ran with a more passive defence.
