    Melbourne Rising 2015

Tex don't forget Toby Smith played approx 67% of Rising games last year whereas he is not playing this year. Plus it was Cruze Ah-Nau's first game of 2015 NRC on Saturday. Last season virtually had three quarters of our prop rotation with a significant amount of Super Rugby experience. This...

RWC: Tonga v Georgia (Kingsholm) Pool C

Really enjoyed this game. Georgia's forwards were really good particularly at set piece and in defence. Thought there is first upset of RWC but it certainly got overshadowed by the Cherry / Brave Blossoms.

RWC: SAF v JAP (Brighton Stadium) Pool B

I watched the replay when I woke up this morning without knowing the result. My wife got up when there was five minutes to go and wanted to know why I was so into Japan. I said there are three Rebels (two ex-Rebels) playing and Japan might be about to upset South Africa. 13th in the rankings...

NRC Rnd 5: Melbourne Rising vs Greater Sydney Rams

Bad luck to Rams, really deserved to win that. Having said that really pumped that Rising stole it at the death. Loved Pom Simona's work in the commentary box.

Rising won't make finals this season if they keep playing like this.

    Melbourne Rising 2015

Lloyd Johansson was our best player, just kept smashing it up the middle. Ben Meehan provided a lot of zip from the base of the ruck. Jordy Reid was also heavily involved. Steve Cummins won a number of lineouts. Jonah Placid made a number of good runs.

    Rebels 2016

Telusa Veainu has been named in Tongan Rugby World Cup squad. Well done Telusa. (I know he is not a 2016 Rebel but thought it made more sense to put it in this thread than resurrect Rebels 2015).

    Melbourne Rising 2015

With news yesterday that Rabodirect is ending their wonderful support of Rebels and therefore Rising, Rising have a new sponsor on front of jersey - Direct Connect, who organise things for people who move such as removalists, connecting gas, power, pay TV etc.

    Rebels 2016

Tex Shota Horie and Male Sau have been named in the Japan team to play the World XV. I think Keita Inagaki is injured. Speaking of Inagaki he must be staying with Rebels because he is still on profile pages and the below quote was in article on Rebels website re this match earlier in the week...

    Melbourne Rising 2015

Yes linking clubs like Footscray, Moorabbin and Box Hill to Rebels aligned players to the club to count as every club having a player. BTW for those above saying Lloyd Johansson didn't make it... he did get included in squad.

    Rebels 2016

Have you heard the story about two Kiwis and an Irishman? ... The Rebels have signed Irish prop Jamie Hagan. Hagan has played 1 test for Ireland but has over 100 professional matches.

    Rebels 2016

Ex-Rebel Telusa Veainu made his test debut for Tonga on the weekend v Fiji in the Pacific Nations Cup. Veainu also scored a try. Fiji won 30 - 22. In another Pacific Nations Cup match, Shota Horie started at hooker and Keita Inagaki come off the bench in Japan's 20 - 6 win over Canada.

    Rebels 2016

Hahaha... I doubt it given our recent signings. Although we have been signing a lot of Reds players the last couple of years.
