Maybe, but what does it say that someone who has 'the ear' of both the board and senior management, accuses the organisation of reneging on undertakings they have provided? Just another example of why they need a clean out of both the board & senior management.

No shame in bowing out like that. I thought they were tremendous last night, well done boys! As an aside I thought the England try was a good call. Their winger did unbelievably well....

Putting your awesomeness aside for a moment. seems to me that the ARU is using a two handed approach. They are giving the pros money hand over fist, and unfortunately game development is only getting the fist.....

England lucky to be only 6 behind. We are dominating breakdown, good to see an English team struggling at set piece. It's like they are playing at altitude, both sides kicking the ball miles.

You don't need a successful wallabies/Super teams to engage the kids. What they need is an introduction to the game, if they enjoy it, and their team whoever it is, is competitive, that's enough for them. We've had this trickle down theory for 20 years, and look where it's got us. The Tahs won...

What else they gunna do with their money? They'd just piss it up against a wall :)

It would be somewhat disconcerting if they were both understating player points,at the same time as being over the points cap :) It's not occurred to you that people believe that Uni are only under the cap because they are incorrectly tallying these points?

You don't lower the barrier to entry by paying the better players. I don't even agree that women's rego fees should be subsidised to encourage higher participation. Rugby in Australia would benefit by increasing recreational player count, sex shouldn't come into it.

why is there a need to pay them?

How is it the fastest growth area of the game? Womens 7's is completely different to 15's. I recall watching a Sydney Uni women's team almost 10 years ago. Their fitness, skills and playing pattern was substantially better than the standard I've viewed in the past two years.

Then why do you think it's unlikely we could retain him long term?

    Waratahs 2018

I disagree with your inference that it would be expensive to extend him. His market value has deteriorated since he was first signed on potential (so one would assume it was opportunity not $$ that motivated him)

I rate Wilkin, and I think he has a very high ceiling. But, if the horizon is only 2 years, then Miller,Killingworth or the Woods 7 whose name escapes me,were all better options for right now. There seems to be a policy of corralling as many youngsters as possible, and hoping some of them pay...

I just had a quick look, and it appears the Sydney Women's comp is a 7 team comp. I know the Marlins have a women's 7's squad but no 15's team. They are a long way off an NRC standard comp IMO.

^^^^^if it's unlikely we will retain Wilkin in the long term, why the fuck would we sign him at all?

That's my point, you are treating women club players as equal to men's club players(of NRC standard) The women train once a week in most cases, the men 3(team sessions, excluding individual gym sessions) The women train less than 3rd graders in most cases. That's not equivalent. If we were...

im talking preparation, not whether the "have a dig" when they play.

Some are playing for less than that. The gender equity argument, needs to take into consideration the effort expended. At local level, the women are on par with 3rd grade in terms of intensity and number of sessions.

^^^^ It's not a dig at you coach, but who fucking cares? Ive gone from attending pre season trials, to maybe watching highlights this year. If they stayed up there, it wouldn't affect me in the slightest.
