It all depends on the surface you play on. I finished playing 10 years ago and wore moulded boots as most grounds were like playing on a road. In the 80's and 90's it was all about screw in tags and the longer the better.

I knew a few of the Reds players who liked to go out on the drink in 2011. If they still do the same thing is it an issue? It has to do with what they do at training and how they look after themselves. I don't know too many who are hitting it hard all the time though.

Turns out changing clubs has been great for young Thumbs. He was probably seen as the 3rd or 4th choice half at Sunnybank but has gone to GPS and played a heap of Premier. It goes to show that sometimes a new environment can be great for a player.
