Wallabies v Argentina Sat 2 October CBus Stadium

It’s like he still suffers from schoolboy hero syndrome- he feels like he has to do something spectacular with each touch.

Wallabies v Argentina Sat 2 October CBus Stadium

Is it really that surprising for a guy who hasn’t played more than 20 minutes coming off the bench and whose probably not renowned for his endurance, to start cramping in the 60th minute? It’s not ideal but it’s something very easily solved by electrolytes, conditioning and more importantly...

Wallabies v Argentina Sat 2 October CBus Stadium

Its probably a fair indication that both prefer the right wing.

I was also surprisingly impressed with Lonergan(!) - he actually showed good acceleration and some punch with the ball. Not sure he will ever have the frame/ physicality to compete on the international level but will probably be a handy Super player.

Kellaway clearly had the strongest game out of the back three but I don’t think you can fairly make a call between Wright or Petaia. I think we genuinely have pretty good depth across both wings (and our starting 9-14 is quality) - it’s still 15 that lets us down.

Quade made some mistakes initially but really grew into the game - some of his touches and passes were absolutely elite. He brings variety that JOC (James O'Connor) just doesn't have - anyone who watches JOC (James O'Connor) closely knows he defaults heavily to dummy switch/ block play far too often. Also Kellaway (and Wright)...

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

On that topic, Campo would have to be the worst presenter on the Stan broadcast (and that includes SBW) - he's not a comfortable speaker, doesn't understand the modern game and most of his input are platitudes like 'run at space not bodies' and 'play what's in front of you'. At least the...

    Western Force 2021

Ferguson would have been an enticing prospect as a wing/ outside centre about 6 years ago but his game is primarily based on athleticism and he's seemingly gotten less skillful over time. He could enjoy a good couple of years in Japan though based on his size and physicality.

    Wallabies 2021

Hodge was pretty solid all things considered, however 'vision' is definitely not one of his attributes. It was a little frustrating watching him put up high-ball after high-ball without even considering whether running the ball was an option (and it was definitely on at various times). The guy...

    TRC2021 - Wallabies v Pumas @ Townsville 25/09

Maybe not the worst idea to get him spending some extra time in the gym then.

    TRC2021 - Wallabies v Pumas @ Townsville 25/09

The changes are pretty pragmatic by Rennie overall. He obviously has enough belief in the current back row options in the squad to admonish Swinton and reward Leota without the need to jettison in McMahon. Perhaps he doesn't have the same faith in the alternate hooker options because Fainga'a's...

    TRC2021 - Wallabies v Pumas @ Townsville 25/09

Can't play tight (or at least demonstrated the necessary physicality required) and hasn't consistently impressed against the top teams.

    Waratahs 2022

So really he should be considered a depth player - the Waratahs should be aiming to develop a squad where there is no need for Newsome in the 15 (or ideally 23) - depth player doesn't scream 'quality'.

    TRC2021 - Wallabies v Pumas @ Townsville 25/09

You've got to reward the players who have delivered successive wins against the top ranked team in the world. There were no obvious shockers (including Swinton), so give the same team another shot.

    Waratahs 2022

When has Newsome ever been a quality, as opposed to adequate, player?

    Waratahs 2022

Sarcasm mate - in response to another poster who claimed Pietsch ran the 100m is in the mid-10s.

    TRC2021 - Wallabies v Pumas @ Townsville 25/09

Let's continue with our momentum and pick the strongest squad - after another win (and more credit in the bank) we can look at some 'experimental' selections in the final game. So we retain the starting pack and reserves (including the same backrow) and reluctantly/ finally give Hodge an...

    Waratahs 2022

I thought Dylan Pietsch would be the GPS record-holder??

    Wallabies 2021

Tom Wright is potentially the most talented of all the fullback candidates.

    Wallabies 2021

Hodge and JOC (James O'Connor) can potentially be considered like-for-like with both providing some versatility in the 10/12/ 15 space. JOC (James O'Connor) has actually showed that he is good in these positions though.
