Brumbies vs Waratahs Super Rugby Rd11 2012

Carter and Kingston struggled last Sunday, but McCabe and Smith arent exactly Carter and Fruen (no matter how good their form has been). I expect this one to be closer. Don't expect fireworks though - I would bet on fewer than 3 tries for the match

The unfairness of the conference system illustrated right here...

as a side track to this, I know the Saffers (in particular) are using this argument this year a lot, but my recollection of the lead up to the conference system is that the conference leader part of the set up was at the insistance of the SARU. Can anyone confirm this?

An Independent Commission for Australian Rugby?

now I know why I never warmed to the bloke, he played for the wicks...

    Waratahs 2012

He is touring here soon. Fuck knows what he is doing, but a fuckload of cocaine is my guess.

We want to know who you'd pick for the Wallabies

I was picking what would be best team to field in an international, based on form and experience. To that end I wanted to put leilo at 10, but Barnes at 12 as I think they would complement each other in an international

    SuperRugby Waratahs V Crusaders, Rd 10 2012

Team I'd like to see: Robbo, TPN, kepu, timani, douglas, Elsom, Dennis, Paul, mckibbon, hangers, paka, Barnes, tc, Kingston, AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper). Crazy right? Figure the best chance here is to play the worlds slowest most boring game plan of kicking long and deep, chase hard and flat, and dominate the set...

The Wallabies problem positions: Discussion thread.

This will be the second time I've brought him up in a similar thread, and I don't want to cop a rep, but sitaleki timani is big, tough as a $2 steak, and a workhorse at the ruck. Pyle is probably getting more of a look in at the moment, as Kane Douglas is keeping Sita on the bench. Either of...

We want to know who you'd pick for the Wallabies

I would suggest adding B Barnes as an option at 12, and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) as an option at 13

    SuperRugby Waratahs V Crusaders, Rd 10 2012

Thought I would start this match thread to put all the injury and potential lineup talk in one spot. With Horne suspended, Alcock out, Foley and Ryan out, Elsom now available, and Dean Mumm off to Exeter, could there be some changes in the forwards makeup? Also, how would you line up the...

    Rugby TV Shows

I am certain they do - league is a sport these guys would have all grown up watching, and to some extent probably still watch if not actively support. The Footy show is very successful in terms of ratings and popularity and I can see Marto in particular emulating the slant of that humour

As Ian Payten said on twitter, he'll get anywhere between 1 & 62 weeks

    Western Force 2013

Gist would be welcomed with everything open (bend a little further). Do y want barnes? I'd happily give him up

Waratahs vs Rebels Rnd 9 Super Rugby 2012

I assume foley has been working on restarts this year, a very good aspect of the tahs game, again tonight. Gaffney should work on getting barnes not to kick. The bloke is a real flat tyre

How does a university produce a juniors team? Dougie howser?

While not exactly a gen Yer, I do recall using Edgars and Kyber in relation to the fairer sex while at school.

An Independent Commission for Australian Rugby?

And why is soccer getting so much more than the others? Wasn't that sum in the vicinity of the loss the arc was forecast to make?

Waratahs vs Rebels Rnd 9 Super Rugby 2012

If Carter and horne can't make inroads into a cipriani, JOC (James O'Connor) and Johanson defensive line they should never be allowed to play for the wallabies. Hoping to see AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) looping around onto an inside ball a lot too.

I'd like to see more of S Timani this season. He's a 1 cap wallaby, and certainly has the size and strength to be a great tight lock, plus he's handy around the park (especially with a head of steam).

I guess I was thinking about getting the best players on the park, but concede we would lose nothing with Kepu instead. Actually, we may gain some breakdown strength.
