    QLD Premier Rugby 2015

There are more than a few handy referees in Premier Rugby at the moment - how was Nigel Owens on the weekend at Uni/Bank? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Glad you enjoyed the coverage! Michael is off to coach in Barcelona, Spain next season. Unfortunately the broadcast had to cut off at 4:58 pm at the request of 4EB. While Souths lead Sunnybank by 40+ in points differential, Sunnybank had that draw with Wests in midseason, so they've got one...

Did BGS give young flyhalf Paddy Hogan any minutes in the trial? I know nothing!

Hearing word that Jordan Lenac and Dylan Riley have been named to the Australian Schoolboys. Are any other selections filtering through?

Bond need bonus-point victories in each of their next two matches (GPS, Easts) to have a hope of playing finals. They also need Sunnybank to lose without a bonus point to Easts and University - an uphill battle, with Sunnybank leading 17-11 They're leading GPS six-tries to nil before halftime

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Slim, I'd argue that the Reds lineout has been the premier aerial unit in the competition. Horwill and Simmons were fantastic in the air, as was Adam Thompson. Jake Schatz and Liam Gill were also handy contributors. With two Wallaies-quality hookers the set pieces were one area that Reds fans...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Just did a spot of research in to how big the average lineout options were around the world. Of course height isn't a perfect indicator of wing-span, but it's the best information available to the public. It appears Rory Arnold is the joint-tallest lock in the world at 208 cm (6'10). Adam...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

I've still picked nine Waratahs to my 31-man squad, eight Brumbies, seven Reds, three Rebels and two Force players. When I look at the Waratahs 1-15 I just don't think they offer the Wallabies what they need to start. 1. Robinson is behind Slipper and Sio - no one can argue that. At 30...

Wallaby 31 players for 2015 RWC

Front Row The Wallaby front row is pretty settled in my opinion 1. James Slipper (plays both sides) 2. Stephen Moore (c) 3. Sekope Kepu 16. Tatafu Polota-Nau 17. Scott Sio 18. Greg Holmes (plays both sides) Squad: Toby Smith, James Hanson Locks Rob Simmons is a lock (;)) to start for...

Before I begin, please note that there are no third year seniors in the competition. GPS rules expressly forbid athlete's from competing if they turn 19 in a calendar year. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

2015 IRB Junior Rugby World Cup - Italy

Rogers had the type of performance last year that when he touched the ball, defenders just seemed to inexplicably miss tackles. Much like how Samu Kerevi can sometimes swerve through a line with barely a hand on him, Rogers could make defenders look silly. There were defensive shortcomings...

Isaak is playing Premier Grade, alternating with Paul Kriukelis' brother-in-law, Sean O'Connor in the starting lineup at Sunnybank. I'm quietly hoping that he'll be joining the Reds squad soon - he's becoming more and more like Genia every day. Nili is indeed contracted to the Force, and...

I hear Calvin Pritchard has been playing trial games with Nudgee's seconds. Ireland is definitely at Nudgee per sources, so I'd imagine he's in the same boat. TSS prop Harry Weld was one of my big favourites from 2014 - he absolutely humiliated Gavin Luka in Round 5. I'm surprised he's not been...

Because it was Jackson Evans and Nick Jeffries in the second row, with Tom Zappala at seven! That makes much more sense. I was thinking of Jeffries as a number 8 potential convert. He's the little brother of Rebels lock Sam Jeffries. And Agassi Stowers played six. All coming back to me :) thats...

In a global rugby community, highlights tapes like the one I shared above aren't just a stroking of the highlighted's ego - nor are they a symptom of low self esteem. Aumua's highlight video is a recruitment tool designed to further a career in sport - one that I assume has worked, given his...

I was under the impression he and Nick Jeffries were last year's starting lock pairing. Is that not the case? In other news, Quade Cooper has officially played his last game for the Queensland Reds. The latest episode of the Sam Greene Rugby Documentary came out today, on which I appear to...

    QLD GPS Rugby 2015

(Linespeed beat to me to the punch) Ben Gunter and Emry Pere are running around for school - the tackle busters are there, it seems the selectors have chosen to overlook them in favour of tackling machines off the bench like James MacMillan . If QLD 2 reserve loosie Justin Sikimeti is any...

Fair points yourself Mondays Expert - but I just can't stand by and watch the sacrilege of one of my all-time sporting heroes in Levi Aumua. Aumua was the heart and soul of the BGS pack, and his "follow me into the trenches" attitude was the first foray into success that BGS had post-2009...

Boy oh boy has this post missed the mark... First: Milne and Moeroa were both centres, not No.8s Second: I wouldn't describe Harley Fox as a "big" athletic Number 8 - at 6 foot peanuts, he's going to wind up in the front row eventually. I hope for his development's sake it's sooner rather...

38/46 GPS players, 5/46 AIC players, 3/46 CSS players.. That's one of the stronger GPS classes so far, then - the most I've ever seen was 41/46 back in 2010 I believe.
