    France v Australia

It's not just the forwards that provide the front foot ball. If you don't have backs that want to hit rucks and secure the ball quick smart then that's a huge issue if you want to play a fast up-tempo game. If backs are constantly 'fanning out' waiting for 1-8 to get there at every collision...

    England v Springboks - Twickenham

Ford will show a little more endeavour than Farrell running the cutter. I thought Farrell was far too conservative last week even when England had front foot ball. Ford has a decent running game and whilst not as good kick as Farrell, probably has a better passing game. The big thing for Ford...

England v New Zealand @ Twickenham

Whether it's in a different paragraph or not it's still in the same section of the law regarding repeated infringements? All I said is that penalty try is contemplated under that section of the law. Yes the normal sanction is a penalty kick and then referee discretion to bin a player. It...

England v New Zealand @ Twickenham

But the way the English pack were moving forward with ball control under the no8 only 5m out shows that the ABs scrum infringement was stopping a probable try. Law 10.3 (b) definitely contemplates penalty try for repeated team infringements

    Wales v Australia

Have the Wallabies improved if they've just come off a win against Wales? A team they traditionally beat - won 14, lost 2 and drawn 1 since 2003. Wales are no slouch in my book, but it just seems that the Wallabies have held a longstanding win record against them and on their turf (7 of the...

England v New Zealand @ Twickenham

A team that continues to repeatedly infringe at scrum time because they are being dealt too can just keep infringing can they without repercussions? In the context of what was happening that was an easy call for Owens.

England v New Zealand @ Twickenham

In my book it was. We wheeled the scrum because of the pressure on the loosehead (Faumauina's) side. Two previous penalties, one scrum and one offside (from quick tap), not to mention another scrum penalty a little further down field, and it all points to a PT.

    TK individual brilliance.

England v New Zealand @ Twickenham

England attacking well and unlucky not to have a couple of tries. ABs with a good hit back and try. Read and Kaino operating out wide to get us go forward. 8-5 England.

Does Cheika see McMahon as openside cover? I doubt it. The kid has played one game off the bench vs the baabaas. Hodgson necessary. Does Cheika see Hodgson as no8 cover? Doubt it given he doesn't really have the skill set to play that role? Skelton does and that's why he's there. Does Cheika...

Could it be that this guy is really the new Wallaby coach

    Wales v Australia

They've named a 24 before, and under Eddie Jones and Knuckles they often named a 23. My curiosity is that I don't recall any other nation doing it. So does that 24th guy doing the warm up get a match fee that others in the squad not selected don't get?

    Wales v Australia

Why do OZ name a 24th player? They used to name a 23rd previously. Is there something in the CBA that requires them to an/or they get a match payment even if they aren't in the finalised side?

    Wales v Australia

If "official" website stats are to be believed, Roberts and North are bigger.

    Wales v Australia

Last man standing for the Welsh midfield it seems. North not a great lateral mover, so things could get interesting if OZ get some quick ball. What North is though is quick and should have the outside channel covered if/when TK tries to attack there. A decent forward pack for Wales although I...

It's a settled lineup also (if my selection is what runs out that is). Tips and Lydiate are a line ball call. But I think Tips can provide good impact off the bench. Dan Lydiate has been one of Wales best for a couple of years now.

Everyone? That has to be a myth. Just off the top of my head, in the last 7-8 years: Savea, Sivivatu, Thomson, Howlett, Guildford, Cruden, Weepu, Flavell, Gear, Collins, Tialata

Not sure if anyone has posted the Welsh squad. Backs Mike Phillips (Racing Metro), Rhys Webb (Ospreys), Rhodri Williams (Scarlets), Dan Biggar (Ospreys), Rhys Priestland (Scarlets), Cory Allen (Cardiff Blues), James Roberts (Racing Metro), Jonathan Davies (ASM Clermont Auvergne), Scott...

How to respond to the haka

Why are there mascots, half time entertainment, guys on the loud speaker, music, raffles, interviews with the crowd, a man in an Akubra and Guitar, etc etc, all that has "nothing to do with rugby" and yet we see it over and over again. "Rugby" at the highest level is not just about the 80...
