    Rugby News from unexpected places

It should be noted that the guy talking about things like broadcast etc. had a vested interest in such matters. Owns Glendale broadcast facilities and apparently wanted to be the go to for all the leagues productions.

    I thought that was insanity.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Or have both Super Rugby Au and SRA look to go to 6 team structures playing 10 home/away games plus three rounds of finals for 13 weeks plus a AP Cup featuring the 12 teams from both competitions alongside 4 Japanese teams playing over a similar schedule to the one you've suggested.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Well, there was mention of commercial concession having been made.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

If I hadn't seen a post on r/rugbyunion with the date and time on it I would have thought the game was yesterday as opposed to 2pm today. Now. I don't watch much TV these days but the little I saw had no advertising for the game on 10. Which is a shame as I think 10 actually do Tests quite well.

New Zealand vs Australia Oct 11 2020 Bledisloe Cup

Hahaha! Was saying to my brother post game that maybe the supposed gulf between SRA and Super Rugby Au had been somewhat overstated.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

I'd prefer we focus on a more time zones friendly Cup structure.

He see returns in the form of tax offsets. Likely in quantities comfortably more so than any profits from a TV deal. Then there's the whole goodwill side of the coin. Equally as valuable.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

It's been a while since I did Tax Law but there's a reason Forrest administered GRR and the Force via his philanthropic arm. Turning a profit would be counter to the beneficial taxation arrangements under that structure.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Reduce the salary cap to $3.5m per team and look to either bring in two new teams (I'd actually go for one based in North Sydney) or professionalise the Country squads while involving the Drua and run a professional NRC while opening up Wallabies eligibility to overseas based players. No more...

    Where to for Super Rugby?

The simplest ready made option in my opinion. They already exist and can draw on some pretty good local talent.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Someone on reddit suggested using something similar to the M10 Cup structure with two divisions. Which I don't mind. Though I'd like to see something akin to what was used several seasons back in the Shute Shield. Where everyone played each other once for 11 games before splitting into two...

    Rugby 7s general chat

From what I could find there are 19 centrally contracted players sharing $750k. Most of them established Wallaroos. I doubt they'll be earning enough to be in danger of permanently jumping ship. Not that I think they should be held to just one option. I actually think this is one area both...

You have a phone, tablet, laptop or a smart tv? It's very accessible.

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

Has 2.1m subscribers in Aus and 150m total worldwide. Not exactly what I'd call obscure.

A little conflicted. Part of me would be happy to see the NRC remain or some kind of rejigged competition. The other isn't ecstatic about the Paywall. Hopefully this prompts the likes of Amazon who are said to be sniffing around to enter an improved bid.

SLAR will have six full time franchises next season with the Colombian based Los Cafeteros Pro joining as full members. They were to feature for two games against the bottom ranked SLAR this year before Covid. http://www.americasrugbynews.com/2020/09/27/super-liga-americana-expansion/ Briefly...

    Rugby News from unexpected places

MLR have confirmed the dates for their 2021 season. Kicking off in March. Through to August. Two conferences. 18 rounds. There's also rumours of a Chicago team being greenlit for 2022 in the near future.
