National U16 and U19 match discussion.

Godfrey and Scmidt probably unlucky to miss out from the Brumbies. Godfrey had a strong tournament at No 8 and second row. Schmidt was very composed at 10 and has a massive boot, but just too many other good No 10s around, I suppose - Morrison, Bowen and Mason come to mind.

So, as I understand it then, a descriptive word or phrase (evil mind) was transferred to an object (Dan Mackellar) to be analogous to what? Are you suggesting Mackellar is or is analogous to the devil (or Hitler, or Trump etc - select any example of literally an evil mind)? I am confused.

They get kicked out, then I'd like to see them join the JID John. We'd get to see the Emus take on the Wallabies in what should be an epic match.

Nah, but could soon be. Apparently Rennie has won 3 from 12 matches in succession while Cheika had a period of 3 from 13. A loss to Ireland will be the equal low point while it would be worse with a loss to Wales as well.

I wonder if Campbell is suffering the effects of concussion after his head knock last week, and Banks still not fit from his ankle injury. If that's the case, then probably Kellaway to 15.

He went ok (outplayed Dupont imo) against France only just over a week ago. He is up there with those you mention, just different.

Attitude I'm afraid. FF (Folau Fainga'a) needs to calm down some of his off the ball shit.

I would like to see all of the ball runners on from the start. That would mean Tupou, Skelton and Valetini all starting. It would also be useful if Frost was given a different role to take advantage of his surprising pace a little wider of the ruck area. Finish the game in the last 30 minutes...

Any thoughts on Campbell possibly missing this game if he suffered concussion on the weekend? If Banks is still injured, would Kellaway slot into 15, or would they go to Hodge or Petaia?

Don't disagree, but I recall Matty had a very checkered early start to his international career, started his first couple of tests against the ABs in full flight and dropped afterwards for a period where he made intermittent appearances among his times out of the test side. He was always...

No, the blinkers only come off when one of the other inferior Aus super sides improves to take the mantle of best in the country. Won't surprise me at all if the Tahs actually do that or go close in 2024, but can't see the others coming up to scratch. Incidentally, Sio is no longer a Brumby...

World class players like Kerevi and Koroibete notwithstanding, I reckon the most valuable overseas player come RWC could be Scott Sio. There must be some doubt about Slipper maintaining his form until and through a WC program and for all his abilities otherwise Bell is still questionable at...

I think we all recognise that Noah needs to develop his game management more, but how can he do that when he's not being selected? It is almost universal that posters here have wanted Noah to get more game time, and to start in some tests so that he can get better skills or show that he doesn't...

OK - understand. But while missing in this game Bernard has started nearly every test match since Quade got injured. We know exactly what his kicking game is like, and I reckon it's totally legitimate to compare Noah's efforts with what is known of BF.

We're all entitled to our opinions KOB, but a mere statement of "Vintage BR" doesn't add to any worthwhile discussion. I gave my reasons for my opinion - would you care to reciprocate? Did Noah, perhaps, turn over a lot of ball, drop passes, pass to no-one, kick out on the full in general play...

I don't see why so many posters are so down on Noah after this game. His kicking for touch was a welcome highlight after the very poor efforts by Foley forever. He gave the last pass for Wright's try. His kicking in general play might not be world shattering but was better than anything dished...

One was a no-arms tackle. Just very poor technique on that occasion. On penalties, am I right in noting that Darcy Swain had no penalties conceded? If so, that has to be a move in the right direction. Together with his disrupting the lineout that led to Robertson's try, his mostly effective...
