    Rebels v Waratahs, rd15 SR2013

Thats why we complain about referees I guess, they all seem to have different interpretations of the offside line, the ruck and the scrum. Imagine how frustrating it must be for the players, if it confuses us punters from week to week!

USARugger Timani is ridiculously underpowered for a bloke his size, contrast that with the damage that Skelton is doing in his short cameos. Timani should be as destructive at ruck time if not more than someone like Bakkies Botha, not sure why he isn't is it laziness or poor technique on his...

Discipline wasn't good enough at times last night, Hooper gave a two stupid penalties when he didn't really need to. I know opensides play on the line, but it is just common sense to wait for the referee to call that the ball is out before you go for it. That said I think the breakdown could...

    Lions Watch

Threads about potential Lions players, all the Irish players on tour in NA could get called up. Their performances on the NA tour are influenced by the quality of coaching. Chicken and egg scenario if you will :D

    Waratahs 2014

Is it a coincidence that the Rebels have looked good without Beale, then have gone back to back without JOC (James O'Connor)?

Thats when the clear and sober head comes into it, as I said I'll depress myself tomorrow by re watching the game and see the logical reasons why we lost.

    Rebels v Waratahs, rd15 SR2013

Its tough off the top of my head to say where exactly the Tahs lost this one, only conclusion I can come to so far is that the Rebels just wanted it more. One more viewing with a clearer head for this one I think.

Have to agree with everything there PP, the only thing I'd add is that in Ireland we have th idea that the 10 has to be the goal kicker too. If Jackson was the way we wanted to go, at least a back up kicker should have been in the team. Murray is a fine example of this mentality, great kicker...

Tahs should have taken the drop when they for those 22 phases. Not good enough tonight, faint finals hopes over. Taking off Barnes was the wrong call, if he'd stayed on who knows. Fair play to the Rebels good win for them.

    Waratahs 2014

The 10 is the general of the team, the bloke who calls the plays and directs the game for his team. He is also the guy who can get his team out of trouble, he can be the rallying point for a team to get a bonus point when they are under the cosh, snatch a W when his team have been second best...

    Waratahs 2014

If it came down to Folau or JOC (James O'Connor) I'd take Folau every time. To get the best out of KB (Kurtley Beale) we'd need him as far away from his "crew" as possible. As lads said above no point taking too much notice until there is something more concrete announced.

    Lions Tour 2013

Doesn't seem to be anything announced for them, probably a case of finding out on the night! I assume it'll be a mixture of maroon and sky blue? Its a shame they haven't released a jersey, it'd be a good souvenir (for the jersey hoarders like myself) and it'd raise some more money for country rugby

Never understood bars turning away rugby fans, AFL and soccer I can understand, but one of the joys of supporting rugby is having a bit of banter with the opposition fans. The bar manager is probably wondering why they run at a loss on Friday and Saturday nights

    Waratahs 2013

I think sports stars would have more followers because they actually put interesting (for some I suppose) stuff on their twitter, and occasionally interact with fans. Sports teams, and not just the Tahs, just seem to limit their accounts to team updates, match reports etc ie stuff that you don't...

At 3.34 in the morning as well, if you can't make a drunken mistake in real life may as well do the next best thing and make it online

    Lions Tour 2013

Twitter rumour, allegedly started in Dublin as a bet between two mates
  17. JSRF10

    Rebels v Waratahs, rd15 SR2013

Its already been discussed on a number of threads so I won't go into the details again, but I couldn't agree more. The decision needs to be taken out of the players and the team medics hands and put into an independent doctors hands who assumes all liability. Its the only way, IMO, to ensure...

    Thoughts on Folau to rugby

Lets hope he doesn't kick up a hissy fit and go back to league when he sees that the ARU couldn't have been bothered googling him to find his place of birth

There isn't a mandatory rest period anymore, they changed their guidelines because I think players weren't being diagnosed with concussion when they had it. Heres a link to the new protocols: http://www.irbplayerwelfare.com/?documentid=3
  20. JSRF10

    Rebels v Waratahs, rd15 SR2013

Looked fine in training yesterday, didn't seem to have any issues. Although I am always wary about a player coming straight back in after being knocked out. There should be a mandatory 10 day rest period or something, some players in the NH have admitted fudging their RTP tests at the start of...
