    Boks v Blecks match thread

Boks holding on, says Rolland. Invisible man up last from the deck.

Watching now. New jersey a wee but shut. Rolland the ref - ask me what I think of him.

Wallaby tight five - boys or men?

Our winning % falls, and RD's fans keep calling it rebuilding (every year), despite there being nothing in particular to rebuild from. I have nothing more to say.

Wallaby tight five - boys or men?

You need to understand that Bob was part of the turnaround in Australian rugby. We were shit, then less shit under Dwyer, then very good under Macqueen. We may be in the middle of another turnaround now.

Wallaby tight five - boys or men?

They don't seem to know what country they're living in.

Wallaby tight five - boys or men?

This idea that Robbie knows more about rugby than all of us is flawed. The guy played fullback for the All Blacks, and won half a dozen premierships with his provincial side. I've played for my school's 2nd XV and am a keyboard warrior of legendary status. But what if ... someone like Bob...

Cunning. In fact, as cunning as a fox who's just been appointed Professor of Cunning at Oxford University.

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

That actually makes sense, Reddy. Damn!

Wallaby tight five - boys or men?

No, grubster, 3rd best team, held back by either our forwards talent or gameplan.

Wallaby tight five - boys or men?

Well, boys is a bit harsh. But as you say, England have a side that could really dominant these guys. I kind of see Australia as 3rd in the world behind NZ and ENG at the moment.

    Tri Nations - AUS v SAF 23rd July 2011.

Lots of positives: scrum, lineout, Simmons, Rocky, Genia, backs fine without being miraculous. This kind of game makes me worry about England. They might have beaten the Wallabies tonight, then come out again after 10 and beaten the Boks. Just not a very high standard of rugby.

The funniest thing I have read in years...

If I don't win this book tonight can someone tell me about Rocky's interest in philosophy?

    Picking players out of position

Jnor - Robbie is definitely thinking about things his own way. He is unpredictable, I'll give him that. But quite clearly, he likes to pick what he sees as the best 22 players, then finds ways to slot them into the team. Personally, that's not how I would do it. Pato's idea that his props...

    Andries Bekker gooooooneeeeeeee.

Yep, that is a shame. Top footballer without the thuggery.

    Picking players out of position

Charger, don't you know there is no point starting a Robbie Deans thread? All of us who can see things as they really are will point to reality, and the lunatic Deans fringe will post some nonsense about building depth.

My personal request to the Wallabies

No saying Gerrard was great - just that he could have been used better. No point playing him unless you have a "kick it back" strategy. And, come to think of it, it's not a strategy that Robbie ever employs.

My personal request to the Wallabies

He probably told him something incomprehesible like orienting himself towards advancement situations and Mark just did his best to interpret that.
