    John Mitchell Gone?

The first season they didnt really have anyone. Look at their starting team. Other than Cannon and Sharpe, there wasnt much there. Then there was the player power issues and the Firepower issues. That caused some real disharmony in the club, and wasnt Mitchells fault at all. Last year, they were...

    Western Force 2011

McCalman has been used as lock in a few games last year. Coupling him with Sharpe is working. However, Sharpe is not young anymore, and has maybe 2 seasons left in him. The Force (and Australia) need a lineout general to take over from him. That man is not McCalman. The Force have Battye and...

Oh FFS people. Yes we are not the best team in the world. We are third. And not far off second. Deans has made some interesting selections certainly. But if he does not think that a player is up to test standard then why select them in the Wallaby team? I would much prefer to see a quality...

Wallabies V Boks Loftus Versfeld Pretoria 28/08/2010

Ant can play 13. AC can cover the back three if needed. McCalman played lock through the S14s and he is capable there. Also, McCalman adds a lot of mongel to the forwards, that we are missing. Barnes is the one guy there that confuses me. I would have thought that we would have been better...

    Western Force 2011

Good point. And they would be taking two playmakers in regardless with OConnor at 15. So Bart to 22, Spanner to 12. And having two big running centres in Spanner and Inman would be good, with Inman able to learn off the more experienced Spanner.

Wallabies V Boks Loftus Versfeld Pretoria 28/08/2010

I dont believe that the Springbok would devote the same importance to beating Australia as they do to beating NZ. They would have targeted that game, with 95k spectators and after a 3 week layoff. That was their big game. It was much like when we met them in Brisbane. They had targeted the games...

Wallabies V Boks Loftus Versfeld Pretoria 28/08/2010

The Boks will have thrown everything they have at the ABs on Sat night - they would have been up for it, and put everything they had into it. They will be physically and mentally spent and so wont be up for this game. The Wallabies on the other hand will be going over there confident, and...

NRL: Considering a Raid on 'Vulnerable Rugby'?

Exactly. If they want big money its available to them in rugby. There must be another reason for them staying (and in Ioane's case I know its because he wants to be at home). And by making a name in rugby there are far bigger dollars available to them than if they jump ship now.

Turner is broken, so I would expect to see Stannard come in as the back up halfback. Swanepoel is the other scrummie they have but dont see him getting a bench spot yet. And wouldnt be surprised to see McCalman start ahead of Wykes. But in the long run, Hocking needs game time as once Sharpe...

    Wallaby Injuries

Who are we likely to see back before the end of the 3N? As far as I know, these are the players we are waiting to get back: Alexander - season TPN - ? Horwill - ? Palu - ? Hynes - ? Chambers - ? Horne - ? Ioane - ? Anyone I have missed. Who of that lot will be fit for the Boks...

    Wallaby tactics

I also think one of the big problems with our forwards not moving when they get the ball in that Genia passes to them, not in front of them. It isnt a bad pass, but equally isnt a good pass. The forwards know that if they start moving forward, the ball could go behind them and they wont be able...

    Wallabies team for next week?

OConnor was on his right shoulder the whole time yelling "give it to me." Elsom decided to have a go and ran sideways into him, and then had to kick because there was no space left. What was anyone supposed to do? Elsom didnt give it at the right moment, as he felt that he could beat the...

Who comes into the squad to cover Horne then? Turner? Inman? We are going to be sorely tested at 13 now with Horne, Ioane, Chambers and Mortlock all out.
