What can be done to improve the game

Was the scrum a farce 15 years ago? What we have now is a farce, too many resets, too many ambiguous penalties. Let the props sort it out themselves, make sure no one pushes till the ball is in, mandate a straight feed and then watch scrummaging at its best.

And thats why we need a coach that understand the strengths and weaknesses of Australian rugby and has the ability to successfully coach accordingly.

I think tactic's are dean's worst offence. The other stuff I can handle but the tactic's are what make me think he is fundamentally wrong for the job. When has a Australia ever consistently had the best forward pack in the world? I would say we never really have, we have had good ones that...

What can be done to improve the game

I think the game is mostly fine and no major changes need to be made apart from a consistent ref interpretation of the breakdown, reintroduction of rucking to ensure quickball and lastly a new set of scrum rules. I think we had scrums right 15 years ago when the packs formed themselves without...

    2011 Spring Tour

I also don't think we should rule McCabe out just yet for future wallaby honours. I dont see him as first choice in any position in the backline but with a couple more years of experience he will make a very handy sub as he can play most positions. His game needs work but he seems like the type...

    2011 Spring Tour

I dont buy into this idea that JOC (James O'Connor) would weaken our midfield defence. He often stands bigger guys up in the tackle with his good technique. Tapaui is an exciting prospect at 12, but he's is not a 13. If he can't make it at 13 at super rugby surrounded by champion players than what makes you...

    Waratahs 2012

I want to see a horne-AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) midfield, with barnes playing at the line throwing flat cut-out passes like he did against the springboks in Brisbane in 2009. Except when you play us. I hope you revert to the carter-cross midfield for that game with halangahu at 10.

    2011 Spring Tour

I disagree I think tapuai should not be rushed in, we have a ready made 12 in JOC (James O'Connor) and a two capable 13's.

3rd Place Play Off - Wallabies v Wales.

I think Ioane is a better stepper because a lot of the time his steps are at full pace and often against the last defender between him and the try line.

    Were the Wallabies burnt out?

I think this is such a cop out. If the RWC was a year later nothing would have gone different except for the fact that we might have lost a few more tests in the meantime. People seem to think that another year would have fixed certain things, but we had 4 years to fix said problems, why were...

    Robbie Deans

This one bugs me and I often pick my brain about it. I've come up with a few hypotheses: Firstly, because at the reds it would seem that they are actively involved creating in the gameplan, and as such they 'own' the play a bit more and seem to be more successful. Examples of this is the way...

    Ideas for Australian Rugby Union

Whats JON on nowdays? Still 900,000 thousand? That should cover half of it.

Any chance burgo can play on the spring tour or is that a bridge to far? I think genia needs a break and a proper pre season, but I dont think phipps is ready to start a test match yet.

If the media keeps this up his post may become untenable. Its only a matter of time before some of the players start rumbling.

I know a lot of very nice kiwi's but this whole booing thing was poor form and I expect better from them. A hate campaign like this simply wouldn't happen in Australian rugby. There would be the odd jeer when McCaw is penalised, or when butch or bakkies drop a late shoulder; but nothing like...

    Robbie Deans

Fast Eddie posed the question in the paper this morning: provided Deans doesn't fall on his sword, who should be his assistants going forward? The ARU have burnt their bridges with the two best candidates for the forwards coaching job - and both of them are now in charge of provincial teams. I...

They are club players, most of them will be looking for a bit of exposure. As long as the expenses are covered I dont see what the issue is.

You would obviously go on the results from the year before.

Shame for quade but it gives someone else a chance to step up now. JOC (James O'Connor) needs to be at 12, like its beyond a joke now robbie. Get him in there. AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) looks flat, like he needed a full pre season, in fact most of these guys look like they need a full pre season. You really do have to question the...
