    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

Sorry for the delay been swamped with work, I was out at Albany Creek for pretty much the whole day on the weekend, didn't see much colts but saw all the grades. GPS won every game in grades and I believe colts 1 and 2 with Sunnybank taking out Premier Colts by 1point in a nail biter. For the...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

Yeh I think the post-school party atmosphere really took a hold of him. His training dropped off a bit etc and he just wasn't as effective and fit as he was straight out of school. Still a massive unit and quite skilled so i'm sure if he decides to give prem grade another crack in the future...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

Mitch has taken a year off this year I believe, he may even be overseas. He didn't really play much Premier Grade last year. I would expect Dan Gorman to partner one of the Toolis boys when he's fit.

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

GPS have named what looks to be a pretty close to full strength side for this weekends trial match against Sunnybank out at Albany Creek. Hopefully we don't have anymore showers as the fields out there can get boggy fairly easily. Ryan Freney 1 Nathan Nicol 2 Phil Kite © 3 Alex Toolis 4 Ben...

Reds v Force, Super Rugby Round 5, 2013

With Genia back this week, whether or not hes back in full form (doubtful) his presence on the field adds a lot more attacking options around the ruck channels and will give Quade some confidence to play wider and faster, those factors alone will give the Reds forwards a little boost which...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

watching that gps 4th grade team play last year was almost unfair haha, it was full of blokes who should/could have played prems or at least Reggie's last year so it's no surprise that ray would continue to be dominant coming into this season. I'm sure a few games under his belt and his fitness...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

Ive heard that GPS v Uni lower grade games have been abandonned at Kenmore this weekend and Premier Grade and Premier Colts will be playing at Ballymore. Any other trials in similar situations?

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

I reckon a couple of clubs wouldn't mind an extra week off to get squads right etc. I doubt there has been much on field training happening with the weather recently.

I don't think Charlie freney the flanker has but his cousin (unsure of first name) is now at gps and plays hooker.

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

I like your thinking SouthernX, there hasn't really been a prems hooker down at GPS who has been able to play more than a couple of seasons and hold down the #2 jumper so possibly Fergie will get a crack this year. Re the #7 spot I'm pretty sure Matty Blain is still at the club too but might...

Apparently Vili Fainga'a has been training at gps for a few weeks now, can anyone confirm this? Pretty handy pickup if he's made the jump across.

    QLD Colts 2013

Jets, I actually caught up with Wests Premier Colts coach Tony Rogers at a sports lunch on Friday and he said pretty much the same thing. They have been getting some good numbers down and a number of notable and skilled players so it looks likely they will be at least competative in Prem Colts...

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

To be honest Rasolea isn't a huge loss to the club, he really only played trials (where he did play very well) and then made few and far apperances throughout the regular season due to 7s commitments and injury. I said in a post last year that IMO having these 7s players come in and out of the...

Strange of him to pick GPS if he's looking for a guaranteed start in Prems with Scott Maloloua, Curtis Franks already established there and depending what happens when Genia returns to the Reds lineup Nick Frisby might even be down.

A hooker from Brothers, Freeney is at GPS, cousin of Charlie. A few backs have also come over from Norths and Sam Grasso is down at the club too. There are also two new French players at the club, one of whom I believe is a front rower and meant to be pretty decent.

    Qld Premier Rugby 2013

Ray Stowers seems to be headed back to Norths this year and having a decent crack at playing top grade footy again. I believe he last played Prems there in 2008 (could be wrong) before coming to GPS and playing for a few years, then he took some time off and came back to play in lower grades at...

Premier Rugby 2013 Ins and Outs

From memory during his year at GPS he was actually stuck on the bench for prems and may have even played a few game for reserve grade, not to say he isn't a good player but I guess some of the coaches didn't rate him and his main assest was raw aggression, especially at breakdown time, there...

    QLD Colts 2013

Since when do GPS have the 'dough' TD? GPS are by no means a rich club and have some of the highest player fees in the whole comp which are used solely to keep the club afloat. If there are other parties involved with providing incentives i'm not sure why they would be throwing money at a colt...

Premier Rugby 2013 Ins and Outs

Norths should be bolstered by the return of backrower Evan La Motta this year. Ive heard hes fit again after a horror run with injuries and has the size and ability to give the team some powerful ball running whilst also being pretty solid defensively. I liked what I saw in patches for Norths...

Premier Rugby 2013 Ins and Outs

I can't really comment on Tony's coaching credentials because i'm not familiar with them but i'm quite sure he hasn't coached any rep sides or anything like that. In terms of being a good bloke and working well with players (especially colts) he is the perfect man for the job. He is highly...
