    Blues vs Crusaders - 2011R01

Agree with everyone, it was head and shoulders the best game of the weekend that I watched, but I didn't watch any of the Sth African games. Thought Stanley was pretty eye catching at 12 for the Blues.

    Wallabies 22 - Week 1 Super Rugby

Yeah don't know about the front row, but who would you nominate ahead of Genia and Coleman?

    2011 Rnd 1 Reds v Force

Agree with that. He seemed a little indifferent to the errors he made so maybe a reaming from Link during the week might be what he needs to fire this weekend?

    Waratahs v Reds Match Thread

Cant see too many changes to the squad, if any. Dropping anyone after one round would be a bit harsh. It will be interesting to see who is selected to run on at openside though. I agree with BG, give Robinson a run against his old side, he wont need much motivating to get stuck into them...

Melbourne Rebels vs Brumbies match thread

Be very interested to see the team Macqueen announces, particularly who will play at 12.

    2011 Rnd 1 Reds v Force

Have to go with Fatprop here Reg. Any counter attack with Cooper driving it is potentially lethal, and his quick feet and pass are absolute weapons against a flat footed defence. The bloke just needs to man up in defence.

    2011 Rnd 1 Reds v Force

Phew, the Reds dodged a bullet there! Commiserations to the Force. Inspirational skipper, swift backrow, good defence, spoiling tactics, and a brilliant performance from JOC (James O'Connor) almost got them across the line They'll be gutted, as were the Reds last year against the Tah's, but I hope they take...

Reds v. Force Players of the Match

Force 3. O'Connor 2. Sharp 1. Pocock. Reds 3. Horwill - great captains knock 2. Hynes - Prevented O'Connor from being more dangerous than he was. 1. Quirk - gutsy display. Davies would have got points but for the brain fart. Lucky it didn't prove costly.

    Brumbies vs Chiefs - 2011R01

I thought the Brumbies played well in the first half but if those tries hadn't been bombed the match result might have looked a lot different. The players on debut went well. Great try from Coleman, showing good feet and pace. The number 8. also looked good.

    Rebels vs. Waratahs - 2011R01

I think the Tah's are in for a good season but the Rebels were a pretty disappointing opposition, for reasons already well covered by other posters. Was really hoping they could get on the board but that just didn't look like happening. Forwards look solid enough in general play but the set play...

    Reds 2011

Tapuai played at 12 and Lance at 13. Ben was solid but seems to have developed a short kicking game which I think he may just overuse a tad. Lance was best player on the park for mine, very good defender, and made good yards in attack. He seemed to handle the 13 slot well. Dave McDuling was the...

    Reds 2011

Some great talent there indeed, and a number of guys who will be looking to impress and stake their claims for a spot in the top squad. Interesting that Morahan Jnr is in the centres over Sitauti, who played at 13 for Aus U20. I'm keen to see how Ben Tapuai goes as I do believe he will apply...

    Reds 2011

So what is happening with the Saturday night game.... has a team been announced? I reckon Qld A v Fiji will be a ripper, and I certainly plan on being there. Pity it couldn't be the curtain raiser on Sunday.

    Reds 2011

He'll get his opportunity, and sooner rather than later I expect. I'm sure he was in the selection mix, but that's the consequence of having good depth. The likes of Schatz and Gill are in the same boat.

lineups for Round 1 Super 15

I think you're right Qwerty. Shit the fullback was only in Year 11...wow, that was a prodigous kick! Not to take anything away from Sopoanga that night though, he was terrific, as much a standout for NZ, as Gill was for OZ. I thought then that for sure I'd be seeing him in Super rugby, just...
