Penalty try Hurricanes vs Blues - What the?

http://m.youtube.com/#/watch?v=xOjjGvLjgfI&desktop_uri=%2Fwatch%3Fv%3DxOjjGvLjgfI Not sure if the link will work, but this was not the first incident of the action leading to a penalty try

    Reds v Waratahs, rd2 SR2013

I wasn't unhappy with the game - While there were some awful patches (izzy's defensive fuckup, not counterrucking etc) I thought the realignment and phase play was 10,000 times better than last year, and most of the mistakes were fixable. but how good is that Ed Quirk. I was never as keen as...

George Smith to sign with Australian Super Rugby team...

Paul Cully said on twitter he cant see the Force, Tahs, Reds or Brumbies being interested. Agree he'd be best used at the rebels, but I think the Force can also use any help they can get. He has played 10 and 12 before in France as well.

    Reds 2013

An interesting line up. Is CFS a centre from schoolboys, or is link trying to get as much pace on the park as possible? With rain predicted we may see a lot of long kicking and fast chasing to pressure the ball return.

    Waratahs 2013

it's often seen that a very good performance is followed by a poorer performance, and vice versa. This leads most into thinking some winning teams get cocky or complacent after a good performance or get fired up after a poor one. The US Air Force even saw this trend and advised flight trainers...

    Waratahs 2013

my mate tells me there are a couple of young blokes in there who look after fan engagement in a general way, but no one takes control or responsibility for any of it. Also they are guys in their early 20s with little experience

    Waratahs 2013

RE: Waratah Faithful: There has always been a half arsed attempt to start a supporter group for the tahs. In this instance, as in some of the previous ones, it has been the brainchild of a couple of fans with no association with the club, which started late last year. I agree with the above...

if those 6-10 year olds are still like the 6-10 year olds i knew (and at one stage was) they will be introduced to the sport that their father watches either live or on TV. I didn't actually play rugby until I was 9, but I knew the game before then and that was why I wanted to play it. Similarly...

    Waratahs 2013

The problem with marketing rugby to rugby fans is that we already watch rugby. New punters need a reason to pay attention, and like it or not a well known former league player generates interest. Were sailor, tuquiri and rogers worth throwing money at? Yes, they boosted the profile of the sport...

    RBS 6 Nations 2013

He started out as a 9, but this is going back 4-5 years. He was quick and sharp, a bit of a poor mans Mike Phillips, although I always rated Gori ahead of him

    Waratahs 2013

true. also from what my mate at the tahs tells me when the team lost a trial game to the national academy team Cheika was quite impressed with the Nat guys and thats how they picked up invites. This may be his way of blooding them for coming seasons

    RBS 6 Nations 2013

Italy had struggled for a decent 9 since Truncon retired 7ish years ago. Now they have 2 in Gori and Orquerra. Italy should look at playing them at 9 and 10, as France did in the RWC with 2 scrum halves. There is no clear 10 favourite and it would be a shame if either had to sit on the bench.

    Waratahs 2013

with a second bench prop coming into effect this year there is a definite advantage in having a Tilse in the squad. Previously your reserve prop was a THP, but now you will have both, plus a hooker. Ryan, Tilse and Ulugia will probably be in the 23 each week (barring injury)

I'd assume all Super Rugby clubs would have spoken with fox re trials broadcasting. I doubt there would be an audience for it big enough to warrant the crew(s) from Fox.

    Waratahs 2013

agreed. I would assume fox make that call. In future I hope they start doing more single camera internet feeds of trials as they did 2 years ago for trial matches against england. While not the best coverage, it at least provides an opportunity to see something.
