RWC: ARG v TON (Leicester): POOL C

Or forget about defence and just keep scoring more points. You can win the game 40-33! In all seriousness, after watching Ireland play Italy your defence might not need to be that great to keep them out. France may have a bit more in attack, but Argentina usually do pretty well against them...

RWC: ARG v TON (Leicester): POOL C

Saw the replay, one of the most entertaining game of the tournament. Some great tries by both teams. Tonga let down by their kicker but Argentina did always seem just that little bit more dangerous. They'll need to improve their defence to have a chance of winning the tournament but their attack...

RWC: GEO v NZ (Millenium): Pool C

Wow it really is! Like rugby without knock ons, off side or forward passes! It even has what looks like rucks and mauls. At 4:30 there's even a rolling maul try/score!!

RWC: AUS v ENG (Twickenham): POOL A; 6am (AEDT) Sunday 4 October

England's final match with Uruguay is basically going to be the team's funeral. There's surely no way they can get up for it. If it was a slightly stronger team than Uruguay you'd have to think they'd be vulnerable to an epic upset. I bet there'll be a lot of 2nd hand tickets going up for sale...

RWC: JAP v SAM (Milton Keynes): POOL B

It'd be nice if they could pull a good performance out of nowhere, out of pride for the jersey, and beat Scotland. Nothing against Scotland at all, they've been impressive at times and would be worthy quarter finalists, but Japan making the quarters would be massive for the sport. I bet...

RWC: AUS v WAL (Twickenham): POOL A; 2:45am (AEDT) Sunday 11 October

Huh? There's very little doubt now that South Africa will finish top of Pool B. They'd have to lose to the USA to miss out. There's huge incentive to win the pool! 2nd will most likely be Scotland, with Japan only able to make it if Samoa beat Scotland. I don't think the Wallabies (or Wales...

RWC: JAP v SAM (Milton Keynes): POOL B

Another interesting thing about this result is that it makes it quite likely that none of Fiji, Samoa or Tonga will qualify automatically for the 2019 world cup. For the last couple of tournaments there has only been 1 Oceania qualifying spot - the 2nd team didn't even make it to the repechage...

RWC: JAP v SAM (Milton Keynes): POOL B

Doesn't make a difference to me if they adjust the system or if they get rid of them altogether. But when they added bonus points to the world cup I'm sure the purpose in mind was to split teams with equal wins.

RWC: JAP v SAM (Milton Keynes): POOL B

Because surely winning games is 100 times more significant in a 5 team pool than scoring 4 tries or losing by <8 points. It just doesn't make sense for a team with a 3-1 record to lose out to a team with a 2-2 record. Doesn't that seem stupid to you? And I don't think it's the same as a team...

RWC: SCO v RSA (St James Park): POOL B

Couple of poor throws from the Scottish hooker. Can't beat South Africa without at least securing your own ball at the set piece. Springboks seem to be going back to the 2007 world cup game plan. I hope it doesn't win another tournament.

RWC: JAP v SAM (Milton Keynes): POOL B

That said, I think it's unlikely to happen. It's much more likely that South Africa will beat Scotland and Scotland will beat Samoa.

RWC: JAP v SAM (Milton Keynes): POOL B

Sure, but you can't deny it would be ridiculous and really highlight a big problem with the current bonus point system. It would make a bit of a mockery of the tournament IMO. There should be a change so that pools are decided first by number of wins, with bonus points, head to head and...

RWC: JAP v SAM (Milton Keynes): POOL B

So Japan go to 8 points. If they beat USA without a bonus point they'd be on 12. If South Africa were to lose now to Scotland but get a losing bonus point they'd be on 8 points. They will almost certainly get a bonus point win against the US so would end up on 13. If Scotland lose today and...

RWC: JAP v SAM (Milton Keynes): POOL B

Doesn't seem like Japan care about the bonus point. I find it really frustrating. If they miss out on the quarter finals by a point they'll have themselves to blame.

RWC: JAP v SAM (Milton Keynes): POOL B

I'm surprised Japan didn't go for the lineout there. Surely they must realise how crucial a bonus point could be.

RWC: JAP v SAM (Milton Keynes): POOL B

They're a unique team too, no one else really plays like them. Their body height going into contact and cleaning out in support is sensational. Joy to watch and great for the game. It's a pity they had that 4 day turnaround before the Scotland game. That 2nd half blowout could come back to...

    Great finish!

RWC: JAP v SAM (Milton Keynes): POOL B

It was 2 yellows in quick succession - one for a late tackle with no arms, the other for a hit on a player in the air catching a kick. Have been back to 15 for the last 10 minutes.
  19. Omar Comin'

RWC: JAP v SAM (Milton Keynes): POOL B

Japan should be further ahead really. Samoa's discipline is so poor. It actually could be crucial for whoever wins to pick up a bonus point, especially for Japan. They've been unlucky to have 1 try not awarded but they've also been a bit too conservative in attack IMO, especially when they had...

RWC: JAP v SAM (Milton Keynes): POOL B

Japan too conservative with a 2 man advantage. Should have run it from the kick off and then off the turnover. What a waste of a huge advantage. Good play from Samoa to keep possession for so long though.
