    Wallaby Watch 2014

Update: So far Slim 293 and qwerty51 have both named the correct players, but included too many "others"! I assumed the biscuit tin was produced just after RD's initial 2011 22 was announced.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

As I type this, I'm looking at an empty 400g butterscotch shortbread biscuit tin! "Mr Doug's finally cracked", I hear some of you say. The tin, with it's contents was a "Qantas Wallabies 'One Team 2011', limited edition". Question: (Preferably, without going back through the team records), can...

    Wallaby Watch 2014

Thanks Cyclopath, I will investigate further, cheers.

    Wallaby Watch 2014

Cyclo, Internet Explorer with Windows 7 Home premium. Wasn't there previously a command "reply to post", which no longer exists?

    Wallaby Watch 2014

Cyclo, firstly, why doesn't a post which I wish to reply to come up whenever I click on "reply"? Re Dave Carter, you may not be aware that he went on to coach both Australia under 19s and Australia under 21s. He may have gone further but for the fact that he had to run several mixed-farming...

    Wallaby Watch 2014

He (hopefully) will be Quirindi's third Wallaby, HJ! KM ('Mac') Ramsay, #303, first cap 23/9/1936 David ('Carts') Carter, #666, first cap 29/5/1988 Sam ('SOD') Carter, #???, first cap, 2014??!!

I'm happy to report that the Carter family is "very excited" with the news of cousin Sammy's selection!!

    Refereeing decisions

An 'interesting' reply, Hawko. EOD and Higgers rolling around on top of each other being likened to "ugly brutality"?! The "serial offernder" reference is after Walsh failed to assert his authority on the Reds v Brumbies match, when the TMO said 'nothing to see here' after Steve Moore, (a person...

    Refereeing decisions

Those of us older members remember the days in rugby when the expression "The referee is the sole judge of fact" applied. Obviously, this no longer applies, as it now appears to be: "The TMO is the sole judge of fact". My 'Official Match Day Program' from Saturday's Reds v Rebels match lists the...

    Reds v Rebels, Sat May 17 @ 7:40

Given that Quade is out for up to 16 weeks, does anyone else feel that the action by Laurie Weeks (to grab Quade and drag him over the touch line from the left side, as his head was twisted to the right), was a contributing factor to the severity of his injury? It looked bad on the clip shown on...

    Reds v Rebels, Sat May 17 @ 7:40

Slightly off topic, but following on from one of my previous comments: Richo returned my crowbar today and offered the following: 1. If the Reds employ JOC (James O'Connor), they should train him for, and play him at #12. 2. Don't buy K Hunt, as his body is broken! 3. Reds to beat the Rebels! You know it makes...

    Reds v Rebels, Sat May 17 @ 7:40

Daz, someone with a greater knowledge of the workings of the QRU than I, told me that RG is safe whilst Jim Carmichael is the CEO! Great mates, apparently. We may soon get a chance to see how strong that friendship is!

    Reds v Rebels, Sat May 17 @ 7:40

Mrs Doug and I just hope that it's worth the 80 minute train trip each way from the GC!
  14. Mr Doug

    Reds v Crusaders

I was speaking to my mate Richo yesterday, when he called in to borrow my crowbar! He suggests that the Reds should play Mike Harris at 10 and Quade at 15. As a former five eight for both the Wallabies and the Kangaroos, his thoughts are worth considering.

So why did you re-open the box Hugh?!

    Brumbies v Sharks, round 13 2014

Good story about Sam Carter giving his boots to two wet and cold young fans! I guess that's what Quirindi boys do?!!
  17. Mr Doug

    Canes v Reds @ TheCakeTin

gel, I agree with your comments re Chris FS. From where I was sitting, (row 9 at Suncorp Stadium), Chris looked 'out of his depth' against the Brumbies, and took several bad options. TBH, he did have plenty of Reds mates doing the same in the first half!

    Tahs v Bulls, round 10 2014

C'mon the Tahs. I guess all you anti-monarchists out there will be pissed off to hear that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are at the match!
  19. Mr Doug

    Reds vs Cheetahs, Rnd 4.

Yes in Super Rugby history, but didn't want to push his barrow so soon after the match!!
  20. Mr Doug

    Reds vs Cheetahs, Rnd 4.

Thanks for that coverage info, djeff. I was pissed off last night, and had only imbibed 3 stubbies. You can imagine how I felt later in the night after adding three glasses of red!! I've offered Reds my services two days a week to help run their Marketing Dept!....So far, no reply!! I'm not as...
