'We have not' that is a very short memory Ryan09. Ever thought of the Colts side that Dave Harvey participated in? As we all know Dave Harvey doesn't play for free.

    Colts 2013

If a club is to go Gordon would be one of the last clubs.

    Shute Shield 2013

No one has mentioned that Plokstys and Gower were teammates at Gordon!

Im not sure the Rats are that bad off in terms of losing players to Uni maybe have a look at the players Manly have taken! Gordon has a lost a ridicoulas amount to Uni and to a lesser extent Norths(this has grown the last few years though especially in Colts).

Lindsay Crook (Australian 7's) to Gridiron

    Didn't see a thread on this - http://cincinnati.247sports.com/Article/Bearcats-Add-Pro-Rugby-Player-127133

Even Gordon have Matt Hayter who was meant to be playing grade this season until injury pushed him back down to colts. He was one of Gordon's best last season let alone this season. Played CAS etc.

    Shute Shield 2013

Let's get back to the days of an unofficial 5th grade! Brings more canteen profit and more blokes to have beers after the game creates a better culture! Am I dreaming!?

    MANLY 2013

Score in 3rd grade and 1st colts?
  9. AussieDominance

    Shute Shield 2013

Totally agree. Not only that Gordon is the closest club from the Central Coast/ Newcastle. Gordon also has access to provide accommodation for young country players with the UTS arrangement and has a more than wealthy ex player network that can provide jobs and support to these kids. There...

Believe it or not out of school they both chose to play in Canberra. Ben Alexander was a Eastwood Junior though. Played a year for Norths in Colts I think as well with Tom.

Not all club's provide cash as well. For example when Hendrik Roodt played at Gordon he was provided with a sponsor's car. Free accommodation is another major seller. All clubs provide match bonuses on top of this usually.

    Shute Shield 2013

Agree with the above. Lower grade players are a great source of supporters for years ahead as well as during their own playing years. You can't just get rid of them and expect crowds to turn up to watch the top two grades based on an area affiliation of which some clubs do not have.

I thought Coleman would be someone that the Tahs would certainly be looking to develop with his athletic characteristics + build/height.

Has Ben Seymour gone to Norths?

    Colts 2013

When did it get mentioned that he was going to get given a lot of 1sts gametime? Not many schoolboys are physically ready first year out of school (like his brother). FYI Michael looks like coming back to Gordon grade this season. The Grade pathway is one way to retain talent yes.

60 is bordering on three teams once you get injuries/unavailablities etc. That's what Gordon found this season anyway. Another 5 - 10 more and you have it covered!
  17. AussieDominance

    Shute Shield 2013

The Gordon power struggle is hardly a struggle. I think it will be a matter of handing the club over to the challenging group consisting of Hartill and Co. They seem to have pretty much all the player support.
  18. AussieDominance

    Shute Shield 2012

Gordon and Randwick didn't make the finals for a reason? Perhaps referring to the amount of teams that made the finals series. Eight is way too many.

    Sydney Colts 2012

I don't have an issue with Tom. Did he play the last few rounds? Gordon Broome played about 3 or 4 games as well and could have realistically turned out for Gordon then?

    Shute Shield 2012

Agree. Mismanagement is the problem. Gordon are now paying off debts and will be for a few years unless they declare bankruptcy and start again with a new board(all happening at the moment). EGM's etc. A few people have put in massive money to keep the club alive. Kudos to them but in reality...
