    Waratahs V Brumbies @ Homebush

The passionate football cultures in places like Green Bay or Christchurch certainly helps them to punch above their weight, but it's no excuse for the Tahs, not being able to make use of the excellent resources at their disposal. Plenty of examples of big city teams being successful as well.

Australian rugby is on FTA now, every week.

And it seems that ClubRugby TV has organised a deal with Fairfax Media so that access to the game video is now free.

Western Cape : Supporting Code of Conduct

Simple and straight to the point. Also good to point out to parents that there are channels, through their own schools, to follow if they have legitimate grievances, before they start complaining to other schools or unions.

2012 Super Rugby - crowds & TV viewer numbers

Yes, I forgot that point. Even less likely that the ARU would be able to persuade the SA and NZ unions to cut their income to help out Australia on what would be at best a gamble.

    Waratahs - Positivity thread

The match this weekend will be preceded by the juniors march-past, which the kids (and I) always enjoy, and, if precedent holds, the players will spend plenty of time signing autographs afterwards.

2012 Super Rugby - crowds & TV viewer numbers

Herein lies the major problem in Australia. Foxtel pays money to have exclusivity over Super Rugby, because it drives subscriptions. If they lose that exclusivity, they'll pay a whole lot less, because they'll lose subscribers, and that loss won't nearly be made up by any money from FTA or...

Even a broken watch is right twice a day.

    Waratahs 2012

Exactly right Bardon. All the pressure here needs to be on the board, not on Foley.

    Afternoon vs Night games

The Tahs afternoon games haven't affected club rugby this season - the early-season Saturday game was prior to club games starting, the Crusaders game was Sunday pm.

    IS OUR GAME GROWING?

Our junior club in north-west Sydney has seen an absolute boom in the U6/U7 age-groups, I think about a 50% increase total over the past 2 seasons. No doubt largely due to demographics, but also lots of community engagement.

    Rugby Jerseys and Merch Deals

They're employing some dazzling marketing tricks in that email... "Today we are offering a mens Qantas Wallabies long sleeve supporter polo in gold for just $50 reduced from $20..." Now I really want one!!!

    Waratahs 2013

Hooper creates a significant improvement in the pack's ability to retain the ball in unstructured play, building on the already impressive scrum and solid lineout. B. Foley moves up to fly-half, with Barnes moving either to 12 or 15, and this plus the ability to retain the ball gives the...

    Waratahs 2013

Baabaa, I hope you pointed out to Jamie that the best way to fix the situation would be to log in and address it himself, rather than hiding behind a proxy. Mind you, we are talking about the NSWRU here, so it is only appropriate that issues are addressed through rumour and innuendo...

    Waratahs 2013

Quade, at the climax of a two-hour special on Fox, announces he is taking his talents to Moore Park. World. Ends. Gagger forced to quadruple server capacity.

    Waratahs 2013

Can you guys take this discussion over to the What's Wrong With The Tahs thread? This is Waratahs 2013. Mumm, Elsom, Vickerman are unlikely to be a part of it. I get it. You don't want them to be there. I get it. Let's talk about actual signings or other for 2013.

    Waratahs 2012

To spare Bruce Ross from having to, for the umpteenth time, defend Sydney Uni, what he would say is this: whilst the Tahs have a reasonable number of Uni players in their squad, the training methods and team culture are very different between the two. Bruce would point out, for instance, that...

    Waratahs 2012

A big problem for the fans, but I thought all the players lived in Paddington?

    Waratahs 2012

Braveheart, that's a sensible review I reckon. I'd add into the strengths afternoon games, which have been great. On the weaknesses, the organisation and tactics of the backline. Poor quality kicking and a lack of running options for the fly-half have only compounded the diabolical level of...

What is wrong with the Tahs

That try reminded me very strongly of that one from a few years ago which AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) scored at Suncorp(?) where he ended up jumping almost into the crowd after scoring. Barnes delivered that pass too, with three guys in motion aiming at that fly-half/inside centre channel - it looked like any of the...
