    Shute Shield 2014

What I'm expecting is that the requirements of the job description will be fulfilled. Quotes from the job description: "The successful candidate/s will be responsible for promoting the NSW Rugby Union (NSWRU) and Sydney Rugby Union (SRU), as well as the Shute Shield Premier Rugby Competition by...

    Shute Shield 2014

Given the fact it's still advertised on the website, we could assume it wasn't filled. The job description seems to be exactly what's required IMO and surely the NSWRU could afford to pay someone to do this.

I assume you're saying this unpaid position (advertised on the NSWRU website) hasn't been filled: Shute Shield Media Intern Posted January 13, 2014 NSW Rugby Union is looking to appoint an intern to help maximise the profile of the 2014 Shute Shield Premier Rugby Competition. The successful...

It will be really interesting to see how much coverage the NRC gets in the media given the fact that it will be running in parallel with the Rugby Championship and the NRL and AFL finals series.

You can blame the NSWRU and the SRU (whoever they are) for that. Any organisation seeking publicity needs to have media officer who works to get stories published in the press and on radio and TV. Not sure if either of these bodies have such a role but they're not doing a very good job if they...

If Barry's game last week against Manly is typical of his form this year he should be on the list. But my assessment of Eastwood over the last few years is that they are a great team and play as a team with individuals not standing out as much as some other clubs.

Haven't Eastwood recruited from other Sydney clubs well over the last few years. Barry, Ayoub, Hill, Kovacic -- all had great years for the Woodies.

Andrew Lees for my vote -- calm, good man management and doesn't go out of his way to find penalties. Good application of the advantage rule too.

Considerate of the ARU to launch the NRC a couple of days before the premier rugby GFs in Sydney, Canberra, Brisbane, Melbourne and Perth and not even mention them. Watching the news last night you'd have thought there was no rugby being played before the start of the NRC other then the...

You obviously didn't see the Friday night game against Uni where he destroyed their scrum in the last 20 minutes.

I think it should be based on where their maternal great grandmother's pet dog was conceived. Seems to work for Scotland and England when deciding if a Kiwi or Aussie player qualifies to play for them.

I agree, very strange....and Tom Connor listed as Nowra as well.

    Shute Shield 2014

I'm puzzled by the comment that Tristan Goodbody "didn’t get enough game time to edge the starters". As he was the only player to start every game for Randwick this year and was only replaced late in the match a couple of times this comment seems a bit harsh. Maybe he needed to play a few lower...

I notice Rees-Hole is in the Country Eagles Development squad. I thought he was heading back home to Wales??? Most of the good young talent from the Wicks is in the squad as well -- good to see

I notice applications closed for 1sts coach last Friday. Anyone know what the process is and who is making the decision and by when?

    Shute Shield 2014

The fact that they scheduled the SS GF on the same day as the Bledisloe Cup says it all, and the Colts GF on a suburban ground rather than Concord downgrades that occasion as well. No disrespect to Forshaw but the young guys deserve to play their GF on an up market ground.

    Shute Shield 2014

I was talking to a friend on the weekend who follows the Tahs but doesn't follow the SS and he was surprised to learn that the SS wasn't finished yet. I reckon the NSWRU spends more money promoting Tah Man than they spend on the SS. Pathetic
