Didn't Rathbone play Super Rugby in SA first?

IMO Richard Graham will not be thinking about how many minutes Australia's 3rd best No 7 will play for the Wallabies. If he was to think this way about any players, it would be QC (Quade Cooper), Genia and Horwill and I really can't see Graham keeping these guys fresh for Wallaby duties while he is trying to...

    Western Force 2014

Although by my quick analysis, I think that there are only about 10 players in Australia who will be 30 at the start of the competition and the oldest is Josh Mann-Rae who turns 33 in February. I am pretty sure the Brumbies had a team all under 30 a couple of years ago. The Reds team has been...

    Sydney Subbies 2014

IMHO, a subbies rep team would get flogged by a NRC team.

De Barts was great in the 2007 ARC. He scored an amazing try in the Fleet v Spirit match at Nth Sydney Oval IIRC. I think he will be a bit long in the tooth for the 2014 version.

    Souths first, then Randwick

Probably still 19 given: "On 25 May 2007, after a stellar Super 14 season, he made his debut for Australia A against Tonga at Aussie Stadium in Sydney." His birthday is 11 May. Edit - just found the 2007 draw. Crusaders game was 31 March (week 11 of 14)

I think he finished school in 2005. Played with the NSW B team in 2006 and scored that try in 2007. Force started 2006.

The big question for the Reds this year is whether their outside backs can score points from the many opportunities that their star halves will create. I believe that CFS needs to be one to step up to fill the gaps left by Digby etc.

IIRC, the ELVs (ie FKs) were used in the Shute Shield in 2007 but not the full ELVs like the ruck laws. The full ELVs were then played in the ARC and then in 2008, they were used for all Australian rugby competitions. We reverted back to the partial ELVs in 2009 in SS which I think was in line...

Interesting how the press release refers to them as "former" Sydney Uni players.

I thought their EPS squad was Samu Kerevi Kris Kuridrani Lolo Fakaosilea Blake Enever Jonah Placid Perhaps 2 of these are wider training group.

Plus I wouldn't want to lose the 10pm games. They are great when it is harder to go out now that I have a young family.

Lee, Metcher played most if not all of his club rugby at THP.

I heard that Eastwood have also expressed interest in being a stand alone club (in addition to Uni and Randwick).

Looks like it was a Shore record not a GPS record. "The final race of the day was the Open 4 x 100m relay. Shore's team of Phil Waugh, Rob Knox, Mark Hutchinson and Andrew Renkert had been training hard for this event and it paid off. Coming second at the final change by three metres, the team...

ARU Junior Gold Cup - National Junior Championships

I am not sure if this is the right thread but are you aware that the new U15 and U17 championships kick off in about 5 weeks on Feb 14 in Wollongong? There are also games in Sydney on Feb 16.

I don't think that is what it says. I think he is training full time with them but the contract is neither full nor EPS - it is a supplemental contract.

Why? Why don't we want the best players in the NRC and why should a guy be blocked from returning to the Shute Shield because he played a few games in the NRC for Melbourne? So he now has to play his club rugby in Melbourne. That makes no sense to me. For me, it's no retrictions which will...

I just don't believe that having these restrictions is the simplest option. My view is no restrictions is simpler. I am also not sure how teams such as Balmain or Adelaide would be able to source players in that model if they had the financial resources and infrastructure to join and add to the...
