    Round 7: Reds v Brumbies - Friday April 7 @ Suncorp 7:35pm

I feel like the origins of my discontent started with Jim Carmichael

    Round 7: Reds v Brumbies - Friday April 7 @ Suncorp 7:35pm

I guess my point with the NRC was that the Reds embraced it and were able to use it as a bridge between Prems and Super. Daugunu was one product if that. For me Daugunu was like a lot of the other guys - did plenty of good things but also made too many mistakes. BR appears to need some...

    Round 7: Reds v Brumbies - Friday April 7 @ Suncorp 7:35pm

As frustrating as tonight was, I still prefer watching the current Reds then the team before Thorn took over. I think his time as head coach is probably done though.

    Round 7: Reds v Brumbies - Friday April 7 @ Suncorp 7:35pm

He’s in now. Thorn is head coach and needs to be front and centre of any criticism. But I’m not sure we should be absolving the other coaches of any responsibility. Defence coach Phil Blake in particular has a lot of questions to answer, IMO.

    Round 7: Reds v Brumbies - Friday April 7 @ Suncorp 7:35pm

We are making far too many unforced errors. The big ones are things like Blyth’s card. But there are a bunch of other lazy penalties. Our defensive spacing is all wrong and we had two tries scored where we were just easily outflanked. Dropped balls (both under pressure and without). Numerous...

    Round 7: Reds v Brumbies - Friday April 7 @ Suncorp 7:35pm

Really. I thought him constantly making post contact metres was probably one of few bright spots tonight. Pretty sure the commentators stated two weeks ago he led the comp for past contact metres - although I have no idea where that stat comes from. I didn’t think tonight was Wilson’s best...

    Queensland Reds 2024

Is this regardless of who the coach is?

    Rebels v Reds 25/03 @ AAMI

I don’t think the first week was necessarily a good reflection of either teams potential. Although if Reds can’t adjust their lineout and discipline they’ll struggle.

Round Five: Waratahs vs Chiefs Friday 7:30 pm

I’d say Eddie would be pretty happy with the defensive effort. Chiefs shot themselves in the foot a bit, but gee the Tahs caused them some grief as well. Very good game by Hooper. Seu also.

    Reds 2023

Did he get extra time because he didn’t get a Red in the game? Which would be fair enough IMO. Drua would be pretty disappointed it wasn’t picked up. IIRC it was at the time Uru was off so the Reds would’ve been down to 13. Even if that’s wrong it still means the Drua would’ve had at least 20...

So long as Quade isn’t playing I’ll back Reg in defence.

I remember seeing that at the time and thinking we might have a problem.

Qld Reds v Fiji Drua Sun 19-3-23

Yeah - I think our first 3 tries all had line ball passes in them. It wasn’t our finest game - that’s did sure. Plenty of times I’ve thought calls could’ve gone our way. Happy to take a bit of good fortune and run with it.

Round 4: Hurricanes v Waratahs, Friday 17th March

Well, they’re 4 from 4 and only behind the Chiefs on bonus points so it’s not like they’re much off the pace.

Qld Reds v Fiji Drua Sun 19-3-23

Really. Gee - I look forward to the Fiji game. Whatever the score you know they are going to have a crack. I guess you really love the ACT though given.

For what it’s worth Wilson was Christy Doran’s MOM.

And surely refutes any remaining sentiment that O’Connor is only interested in ‘his brand’

    Wallabies 2023

Biggest criticism is he played mostly wide, not tight.

Qld Reds v Fiji Drua Sun 19-3-23

If Wilson gets another crack at a Wallabies jersey it won’t be primarily because of his work on the touch line - although he does run a good line and has generally good hands (still needs to respect possession a bit more). It’ll be because of his high work rate, tackle accuracy and proficiency...
