I think the point with Hooper is that he has the runs on the board and will be given more opportunity to find form. His experience will still be highly valued. And if he is playing well, I’d be very surprised if Jones doesn’t pick him which may impact other selections. If Jones doesn’t pick...

Yeah - good point. I meant to mention him. Has been in good form too. Timing of his broken hand has been terrible though.

Interesting. I think McReight has been one of Qlds best each week. I know Qld have been generally poor, but he, Petaia, Wilson and Flook have been first class. The question with McReight is whether he is strong enough, both over the ball and in the tackle.

Some interesting points BR. Not sure I agree on our set piece. I feel it’s been more a point of weakness than a point of strength. We don’t seem closer to finding a hooker who is a consistent thrower. Neither Slipper nor Ala'alatoa are great scrummagers, but they are still better than the...

Very good point on confidence and I think it is a place where guys like Ikitau & Frost has adapted much better to test rugby. Their core skills are good and they just have to execute them at a higher level. A lot of guys have been thrown in without the same level of time/opportunity to develop...

I don’t think it’s an absolute Stillmiissit. I think we saw in the tour that sometimes taking a punt can pay dividends with Mark Nawaqanitwase. At the same time, it is no guarantee. Guys like Fa’amausili, Donaldson & Uelese have been given a shot but haven’t really kicked on. Hopefully...

Hey got 3 - plus the one that was disallowed was probably the best of the lot. But I was joking.

Well - he’s a million times better player than me, so I won’t bag him. But I get your point. I guess if your dad was as good as Michael Jones was you probably use your mothers maiden name or play a different sport. :)

    Moana v Reds 14/4

I’d more say I’m just relieved. Losing the bonus point was disappointing. But the team is under a lot of pressure. Lots of injuries. Have been out of form. Players left out of the Wallaby squad. Coach has been anointed a dead man walking. Sounds like travel plans went pear shaped yesterday and...

Meh - it’s not pathetic. You’re just wrong. Get over it.

    Round 7: Reds v Brumbies - Friday April 7 @ Suncorp 7:35pm

I don’t think there is doubt be meant to make contact. But that’s not a offence and happens to kickers all the time. Disagree that the timing is an issue. The ball is gone, but only just. When Toole kicks Blyth is already in the frame and already lunging at him (with his head down) and is too...

    Round 7: Reds v Brumbies - Friday April 7 @ Suncorp 7:35pm

I guess we could go around forever on the semantics. To me it’s pretty clear - intentional means he meant to do it. Not that he didn’t take enough care not to. Anyway, however you view the terminology and whether it was a direct red or not I don’t think anyone is disputing the seriousness of...

    Round 7: Reds v Brumbies - Friday April 7 @ Suncorp 7:35pm

I think in this case it was a case of Blyth trying hard to make a difference after being out. Unfortunately that doesn’t excuse it.

    Round 7: Reds v Brumbies - Friday April 7 @ Suncorp 7:35pm

Disagree. It is important we stamp out reckless and careless play. But trying to hurt someone with intent is a whole other level of issue and should be treated with lengthy bans or rubbing out from the game.

    Round 7: Reds v Brumbies - Friday April 7 @ Suncorp 7:35pm

So …. Just to be clear you are suggesting he intentionally ran through and executed a head butt at speed? It was stupid and careless and I would have had not complained with a straight red. He seems very lucky to me to have only got three weeks. He never once looked at the ball. Nor did he...
