Brumbies v Reds Super Rugby round 14

The brumbies certainly handled the ball better in the scrum.

Brumbies v Reds Super Rugby round 14

Both teams set out to try and cruel the other as much as possible and to do so in the opposition half, which is perhaps the logical endpoint of where the interpretations are going this year if both sides are evenly matched at the breakdown. Walsh was patchily pedantic rather than consistent...

    Hooper vs Gill

Slaron Flahive will have have her work cut out making Hooper a few inches taller. Moving back to the home of Mardi Gras will certainly give him some footwear options to achieve that end.

    Waratahs 2013

I can certainly agree with the first bit. It is barely started. You can offer someone a contract and make it a slap in the face.... Still, Dave Dennis and Palu have to my eyes been pretty good and I'm not sure that (for all there was no way I would have signed him) Elsom coming and Mowen...

Brumbies v Reds Super Rugby round 14

Any struggles after the head knock = time off. Despite the popular misconception, neurosurgery isn't exactly rocket science, or even ..... brain surgery.

Brumbies v Reds Super Rugby round 14

Watching last week, I did think that Saia wasn't consistently using his arms the way the law requires in what is effectively a shoulder charge at the shins. But I wasn't watching that closely, no replays or close shots, and besides, he's wearing a red jersey, any illegality in his play I would...

    Hooper vs Gill

A sausage roll, despite it's simplicity, seems to be harder to do well. So I enjoy it all the more when it is a good one.

    Waratahs 2012

TC seems like a waratah through and through. I wonder.

    Hooper vs Gill

Broken seems more likely. The waratahs training methods apparently make fracture/dislocations of ankles and appendicitis more likely. Foley has a lot to answer for. Great. Now I need to find a sausage roll. Ta.

    Hooper vs Gill

Didn't even look at the poll. Which is better? Blue or red? Tea or coffee? A pie or sausage roll? Hooper or Gill? Oops, didn't mean to reference the Rugby Club.

    Any word on Hooper yet?

    Nice one.

    Reds 2013

Agreed. Taking it to the Wallabies seemed to become one of things that RD identifies as one of his tweaks. My impression, anyway. And I guess it is fair enough - it certainly flew in the face of the prevailing Barnes/JOC (James O'Connor) at 12 wisdom at the time.

    Hooper vs Gill

Backwards, upwards. It's all good. ;)

    Reds 2013

That is an engineering miracle. Robbie does like to make the odd 'daring' selection (think inverted props, McCabe to 12) and spend the next 4 years explaining how it really is working. (Though in McCabes case, it really is!). Maybe CFS will be the next coach defining moment. Shudder.

    Hooper vs Gill

Hooper is a year older and has a a season of super rugby on Gill, which means something when you're 19. Gill has hardly been a complete chump linking or carrying. I think that having Hooper injured and picking Gill to start would not make 99% of coaches all that unhappy, even now. Lets...

Wallabies v Wales: Name Your Best XV

The thread's been going a while, some of the early selections are hardly surprising. Shipperley had more exposure early, he's played every minute, whereas Tomane started on the bench a couple of times, and while he scored tries right from the start I seem to recall Tomane had periods when he...

Welcome Back To Super Rugby The Cats?

    I think they're from Geelong.

    2012 S15 Australia Conference

The Brums certainly showed they will survive post Lilo's injury. The derbies will decide the final results, and they are harder to pick. For the reds and the Ponies.

    Higgers to the Rebels

Congrats Higgers and Rebels, hope your union sees both of you soar to new heights! For the reds, Eddie Quirck is ready for an embiggening off season and lots of starts. It's all good.

    Hurricanes v Brumbies, Super Rugby R13 2012

Yeah, they're beatable, but you can't give up 23 turnovers to 11 and 16 handling errors to 6 and do it.
