NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

Think there's still quite a few Hugh, with Gordon and Parra having at least half the team playing both JSC and NSW schools Trials. I know there were a smattering of others across the trials this w/e who also played JSC this year. Can't say for certain all have played the requisite 4 club...

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

3 weeks or so. The usual horse trading of dual pathway players needs to occur (Syd gets first pick this year) and so the Syd team must be selected following Regionals before nsw schools can be announced.

The ones the coaches told the boys wanted changes made. I don't purport to know them personally but have no reason to suspect the coaches of lying. Most I've come across prefer to win and are reluctant to completely dismantle a winning combination for the fun of it.

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

GPS deserved the win, but in the interests of fair assessment would point out that selectors requested CAS 4, 6 and 8 all swap positions incl line out from the outset and 4 was removed from the line out altogether where he had dominated both matches yesterday. They also requested some backline...

    CAS U16s 2016

That's probably the only explanation that makes sense.

That was very much my point.

    CAS U16s 2016

CAS 16s went down to Pres A 14-23 in a gutsy performance which showed that the gap b/w the associations at this age is a narrow one. If a few things had gone right, CAS may well have come away with the win. Strangely, the coaches decided to completely change yesterday's dominant line out and...

NSW Schools - Trial Games and Selections 2016

Always very difficult to crystal ball gaze these things W88, but I suspect that today's results may impact a few of the above. Will be interesting to revisit after tmrws festivities.

    CAS U16s 2016

Scored by 10, but he was the lucky recipient of the breakout and magically timed inside kick from 23 (Kitchener). Full marks for being there to support. In fact that was probably the key factor in CAS' success - they played as a team all day and there was never a sense that any individual was...

    CAS U16s 2016

Yes won the first 22-5 (I think) against a very large CCC team through tight structured forward play, enthusiasm at the breakdown and some expansive and slick backline movement. The whole team played well and I don't want to jinx anyone before the final tomorrow by nominating possible nsw...

    CAS U16s 2016

CAS over ISA 14-7 to make main final v Pres A tmrw. A very tight match with deadlock broken through a superb breakout by CAS#23. A great team performance with forwards and backs all standing up against bigger opposition in both games today. Well done boys and best of luck tmrw.

    CAS Rugby 2016

I suspect the selectors may be interested to see how Frost performs at a higher level given his size - very few school boy locks in Aust would be taller and he gets around the park pretty well also.

    CAS Rugby 2016

Anyone prepared to predict CAS selections into NSW I and II squads? From what I saw on Tuesday Frost, Rasch, Margin, Basson, Armstrong, Mohi and Longville would be a chance. Didn't see today's match though.

Anyone at Curagul able to provide updates on CAS II v CCC and CAS I v ISA I?

Fair enough GOIII. Agree it would be great to see the pathway widened and better paved.

    NSW AAGPS Rugby 2016

Cant help but think the SJRU boys must be feeling a bit flat after this one sided contest. Presumably the result is much the same each year? Great for Blue to be able to showcase skills to selctors with a view to (some) being able to be selected 'up' next year. Not sure what's in it for the...

NSW AAGPS - The Next Generation - U16 Competition, and Presidents XV Rep Team

If so, I hope all is well on the family front as Matt is a talented player and tough competitor. His efforts with Parramatta at the SJC will at least ensure he gets to show selectors what he is capable of at Regional/ Sydney level.
