I really think we need to move on from the WC cycle bullshit. It's four years away, who knows what players are going to turn up, find form, lose form, retire, get injured, move overseas etc between now and then. In the meantime, let's allow Rennie and his selectors to just put the best team on...

It could be one of those 'phasing out' roles. A company I worked for in the 80's would occasionally appoint someone to the role of 'manager - special projects', he would have no staff, no-one knew what he did, and a month or so later a memo would come around saying he had resigned to pursue...

    Waratahs 2020

Would like to see both Harrison and Mason given a chance to establish themselves at 10, I think Beale is a bit of a second-best option at 10, and we certainly lose a lot of his ability to spark attack and counter-attack from there. I think 15 is the best spot for him with Hunt at 12, although...

Regardless of what you may think of Castle, the idea that she has any influence at all on who is on the board and what they do is non-sensical. She is employed by the board, and she reports to them. The immediate problem is the board, which is a self promoting club, led by Clyne. Having...

Agree with the above. Provided all the so-called Tahs fans don't start baying for Penney's blood when we lose a few with team full of under 20's. Would love to see us developing our own, and happy with Penney's appointment, but this is going to take time.

Folau's not unstable, just simple and easily manipulated.

I don't know Mike Baird, so have no idea of his personal style or characteristics. However, in looking for a personal reference, I can think of very few people I would place below Alan Jones and Richo.

Disagree about not being able to 'create' a team, it just takes time, money, nous, support from the 'head office' and some dedicated officials prepared to stick it out. AFL did it in Sydney with the Swans, and now have done it again with the GWS Giants, while soccer has done it with the...

It's very easy to just blame everything on Cheika, however as much as Cheika had outstayed his usefulness, coaches don't fall off tackles, throw bad passes, lose the ball in contact, kick straight to the opposition or enter rucks from the side. A coach shares the responsibility for a loss, but...

    Michael Cheika

With the resume he came to the job with, Cheika would have commanded that salary anywhere, and even in the early stages of his tenure. I have said it before and I'll say it again, he is a three year coach. He lifts culture and motivation, fitness, and has a single game plan that works for a...

Yep, only 3 Tahs in the 23, and, as BR reliably assures us, FF (Folau Fainga'a) was the form hooker all year and should have been there, Hooper isn't a real 7 and shouldn't be there, and Beale should never be anywhere near a gold jersey, leaving you with the ideal number of Tahs :)

RWC 2019 SF2: SA vs Wales

I agree. The only people who will enjoy a game like that are real rusted on supporters. In terms of growing our game, that sort of rugby will only turn any casual viewer away. Yes, people like a winner, but if that's the game, it will draw the same sort of crowd as winning archery!

We may well trash Cheika for his ‘running rugby’ fixation, but if every rugby game was like this literally no/one would watch it. Please, not Erasmus as our next coach!

    Michael Cheika

I may agree with some of the comments re Cheika, but the idea that these guys had the best parts of their career pinched from them is way over the top IMO. I mean, these are guys who had a 27% winning record in Super rugby, compared to which their Wallaby record under Cheika of 43% is absolutely...

    Michael Cheika

BH, I think Koroibete on the end of that Japanese backline would look better than both of them. For mine, Petaia's defence would land him a spot. I agree re Himeno's all round skill, but if we look at the role you would want an 8 to play in that pack, it's the big hard ball runner, and that's...

    Michael Cheika

On the discussion re the Japanese team, if you are being genuine I think Mafi is the only forward you'd take, but Petaia and Koroibeite, possibly Kerevi, would be the only Aus backs to get a start.

    Michael Cheika

I'm not a Cheika apologist, in fact I firmly believe he is a three year coach. He can improve motivation and culture, fitness, and have some success with a particular game plan if he has the right cattle, but that's about it. However, the figures presented by Jagman suggest he didn't have a lot...

A bit of class from To'omua, well done. As opposed to Quade, who previously used social media to slag off at Deans, then Thorn, now Cheika, or simply, anyone who didn't select him!
