Was Hegarty approached after they discovered that Matt McGahan had a broken leg/injury? McGahan was announced in November, Hegarty in January. Teti Tela is also a 10 I believe. Maybe the plan was to have McGahan and Stewart vying for the starting 10 role and then when McGahan was out they...

Round 4 - Festival of Hate - Qld v NSW

Your comment suggests that you have connections to the players and have a clue about the culture and what is going on. In that case, what is being done to rectify the structures and game plan that you say are not right? Yes the heart might be there, one would hope and expect so, but are the...

Round 4 - Festival of Hate - Qld v NSW

That Miller penalty was odd, as he had landed a metre away. We wondered whether it was Hooper as the tackle support who he was penalising for no clear release rather than Miller.

Round 4 - Festival of Hate - Qld v NSW

Our family chose not to renew our Reds passes this year. Been going for a fair few years and had involvement with their game day people for several years but then last year they got rid of those people and the new people were not rugby people. Game day experience was lacking, atmosphere was...

    Round 4: Rebels v Brumbies - Fri 8th @7:45pm

You've really got it in for Quade and have huge support for Thorn don't you? Whats done is done. Thorn is now trying to work out who he plays at 10, seemingly having decided Stewart isn't providing what he wants and having had Stewart moving all over the backline during a game, he has now gone...

Rebels - Ben Daley, Campbell Magnay, Angus Cotrell, Brumbies- Kuridrani (UQ), Ben Hyne, Matt Lucas, That's not including Darcy Swain at Brumbies who apparently was recruited from school to the Brumbies.

    Round 4: Rebels v Brumbies - Fri 8th @7:45pm

Correct - from WR (World Rugby) rules of the game: "When players of the team who are not in possession of the ball intentionally leave the maul such that there are no players of that team left in the maul, the maul continues." So as long as the Rebels had bound in the first place to make it a maul then the...

    Round 4: Rebels v Brumbies - Fri 8th @7:45pm

Rangi has looked pretty good from what I've seen. Abel is certainly experienced, and maybe it is a rotation policy to ensure that the hookers are getting good game time. Good looking backline for the Rebels but only 2 backs on the bench so if there are injuries or HIA it could be challenging.

Varndell walked out on his French contract after only 6 games in the 2nd division (PRO D2) and then played 2 games for Leicester. While certainly a skilled and experienced player he is definitely in the twilight of his playing and you wonder how well he will cope with living in Hong Kong if he...

Agreed, but then why are the Tahs bringing him back? They must see something in him.

If TPN couldn't hack the English premiership what does that say about the standard of his play at the moment? Not saying anything negative about the English comp but if he wasn't getting a look in there I assume they must not have rated his current abilities and can't recall him looking that...

Naivalu could move to centre couldn't he? Bring Daugunu in to replace him, then we still have the problem of CFS on the wing - the other wingers/outside backs in the squad (Eadie, Campbell) look fairly inexperienced apart from Toua. Is he back from injury?

Interesting piece on the Reds website about a Scottish player who came out here for the AON Uni 7s and now playing Super W: http://www.redsrugby.com.au/News/NewsArticles/tabid/581/ArticleID/18482/Eilidh-Sinclair-Profile.aspx

Bizarre, after all this time. I thought that the 'hard work culture' or whatever it is called under Thorn was meant to stop this. Maybe CFS needs to 'believe' more.

I thought I read that they didn't have a TMO facility in that match and as the ref hadn't' seen the incident herself she couldn't act on it, only refer it/ Patu has since been called before the judiciary. Shame that something like this has to mar a great performance by the Qld team.

Just go to KMart or similar and find them a cheap t shirt in red - that way they are dressed up in the same colours as Dad and the team so 'are part of it'.

I live in Brisbane, 10 pages in the paper about anything NRL and that is pre-season. I don't follow it at all but can't escape it being in your face.

Yes, some of the info seems not to have been checked. This is from the bio on Angus Cottrell: "Originally a member of the Rugby League family, Cottrell made the conversion to Union after being spotted by the Western Force playing for the Brisbane Bulldogs in the NRL in 2012." Wests Bulldogs...
