Genia is definitely the difference between being a talented side and being a side that translates that talent into performance. He's still got a few things that great me: I think he strives for perfect attacking alignment over getting the ball out fast enough at times, but his awareness...

Something that nobody has mentioned either that may have stopped Shigs ranting: he hadn't played a preseason game due to being in team rehab, so may have simply been being eased back in from the bench.

    Six Nations 2017-18

I think Nige had a good game: he's got a double issue though: First: Flare for the dramatic. Steve Walsh had a bit of the same thing. Fine as long as it doesn't interfere too much, which it doesn't. Second: He doesn't like giving penalties to the attacking team unless the infringement had a...

Super Rugby Round 2: Waratahs v Stormers

    Wowee, what an undeserved result

Super Rugby Round 2: Waratahs v Stormers

What a fucking moron. No rugby intelligence or actual intelligence displayed.

    Super Round 2, 2018 - Rebels V Reds @ AAMI Park

I reckon Higgers will be gone for a couple, but Tui will be lucky if he's playing before the bye. Who knows with match review, Higgers could be out for 4 a la SBW and Tui could somehow escape punishment altogether.

maybe I was watching a bit of a different game than everyone else: but I thought JD didn't make too many mistakes: at least not significantly more than anyone else. I don't think he's "THE ANSWER(TM)" by any means, but the way people are talking it's as if we'd lost and he was the sole reason.

I'm extremely happy with that RESULT. However: there's a number of mistakes outside of the simple lack of cohesion and time together (Scrum engagements, support at ruck time v Set piece and broken play defense) that I think teams like the Brumbies and Kiwis will exploit hard. Ideally same...

Ref demonstrated an utter lack of balls not giving Tui a red there. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk

    Aussie Player Exodus

He completely fell away when he moved. He's played what, 25 games in 3.5 seasons? He was looking good before he left though, so it can only be a positive.

I've got a sneaky suspicion that one of Toolis and Jeffries was meant to play, but picked up a niggle: if you look at that bench, it's a straight XV, except missing someone in the 4-6 positions and Fa’amasili chucked on the end. There's been a late-ish change somewhere methinks.

The other thing that hasn't been mentioned is the lineout: love them as we do, both Timani and Mafi are not frontline jumpers, and better used as occasional alternatives. With a very young hooker, the 3rd lineout option is crucial IMO, even with Philip and Coleman in the side.

    Aussie Player Exodus

Three big issues: 1st and foremost: current regulations AFAIK is that players returning from overseas need to have two year deals to be eligible immediately. I don't think in for 3 months, out for 9 will cut it. 2nd, Only Super and the IPCR don't have partial to significant overlap with the...

    Rebels 2018

Interesting side named for the Tahs trial. DHP, Maddocks, Engo, Hodge, Sefa, JD, Ruru, Faulkner, Uelese, Ainsley, Philip, Coleman, Timani, Cottrell, Mafi are the starters. Fereti, Vailanu, Talakai, Hosea, Ha'angana, Fainga'a, RHP, Goddard, Adams, Ratu, Tuipulotu, Horwitz, Tupou, Shippers...

Fou did consecutive ACLs I think, and still hasn't played a game at any level since before the Olympics? It's definitely harsh to cut him, but I think with the size of the squad (and particularly the depth of the outside backs) there wasn't really an alternative if we're committed to cuts.

    Brisbane Global Rugby Tens

Any bet against us is a good bet IMO, unless we are playing ridiculously well, we'll be out 0 and 3 I think. It's a good enough squad, but it lacks basically all our 23 except Colby and maybe Debreczini if he's lucky.

    Where to for Twiggy Rugby?

If it goes ahead with the consistent RA ruling (doesn't matter what competition: the player must play in an Aussie side), I'm happy it's resolved and am really looking forward to seeing it in action.

    Where to for Super Rugby?

Don't bother. With Wamb it's like playing chess with a pigeon, at least when it comes to the laws.

    Rebels 2018

It's not brand new information by any means and only tangentially related to the rebels, but it's nice to see two former Rebels U20s (plus Goddard) named in Fox Sport's 5 rookies to watch...
