Issues with NRC comparisons can be found in how good David Horwitz looked at 13 in that comp.

He has the positioning, the defensive ability, the acceleration, and the pass. However, he doesn't have much experience there. He could become a good 13, but really should be used on the wing (his best position), or as a defensive fullback.

Might have been a fun combination, but seems to be unlikely now. Source: https://www.smh.com.au/sport/rugby-union/brumbies-sign-chiefs-winger-toni-pulu-henry-speight-loaned-to-ulster-20180806-p4zvqv.html

Only "weakness" if you sign Slipper is THP, and even then it's just that they're the bare minimum, not that they're bad players.

Conrad Smith was a similar size, but he had good tackling technique, excellent positioning, and knew when to run a straight line and give the pass. If he is even half as good at those things, he'll be fine.

Thank god for some depth at 13. Too many people want to try a winger or fullback there, but it's such a specialist position.

If only there was a test-match quality 10 in Queensland......... One with a couple of hundred professional games under his belt, who has shown his ability to beat the best in the world.........

    Waratahs 2019

$6mil over 5 years is 1.2mil/year. I understand a good bit of that will be top-up, but it surely can't be more than $600k? And even then, Hooper is more than 10% the cap. I'm not dissing the guy for getting paid, I'm questioning the Tahs for doing this, it will hurt them when Folau, Beale, and...

?? We have Lilo and Hawera. One is our first choice guy now, one is definitely the backup. Any other option is just the same as "getting another teenager out of his depth".

Not so long ago, the salary cap was $4.6mil. Now, Hooper is being paid a quarter of a team's salary cap per season. That news isn't going to make it easy to negotiate with Folau.

There are good three things that this season tells us about next season: Our forward pack is class; We are able to play with flair when the players buy into it, and; The players are willing to buy into it. Apart from that, it's all speculation. I have high hopes for a Lucas(I know it will be...

Way too soon to be making calls on favourites. Unless we recruit well, we're one or two injuries away from club rugby players starting in the front row and inside centre.

Pulu is explicitly a winger, not a winger/fullback like Muirhead, not a winger/centre like Rona, just a winger. He's the new shiny toy, so I expect he'll get starts, and 14 tries in 30 games (about 10 off the bench) is nothing to sniff at. Looks like we have five wingers next season.

I welcome options in our backline. Look at the 12 jersey in 2016: some games we benefited from Godwin, others from Smith. Same for blindside this year: McCaffrey and Cusack both had roles to play. If we bring in Kerevi, then a Kuridrani-Kerevi-Simone group of centres can really allow us to...

John I. Dent Cup 2018 - ACT Premier Rugby

Rip my minor SF prediction, but well done Eagles. Uni have really slipped these past few weeks.
