    RWC 2011 - Quarter final 3 : Springbokke v. Wallabies CLOSED

I personally would have gone barnes over Mccabe at 12. Steady head, steady boot, steady defense and quality attack. that said, I can see why AFaainga is on the bench. as mentioned there is plenty of cover on the pitch for 11,14 and 15. Don't need anymore. Mccabe could do his shoulder, so you...

    Australian Test Matches 2012 onwards

I guess it is all about growing the game and at the end of the day it is not a bad thing.

    Australian Test Matches 2012 onwards

sorry. newcastle for scotland. what kind of crowd will that get? surely scotland could still pull a decent number in a larger city at say the SFS, AAMI and even Canberra!

    Australian Test Matches 2012 onwards

The welsh test in Melbourne is confirmed at etihad. there is some question as to whether it will be the 1st or 2nd test though. My sources tell me that melbourne is in line to get a B&I Lions test as well. again, question over which match. I'm surprised the bledisloe deals were so long...

RWC 2011 - Pool A - NZ, Tonga, France, Japan, Canada

yikes. we will get a proper thumping in this one!

Adam Freier - appears to have good propects for a journo career

I would much rather read AF's significantly more interesting and insightful comments (ditto Eales) than any of the rubbish Growden puts out there. you can make that comment for harris and smith ahead of growden as well. he is easily the worst.

    Palu's Replacement

George Smith all the way. on the bench as a back up 7, 8, 12 and 13

RWC 2011 - Pool A - NZ, Tonga, France, Japan, Canada

such bad line outs from us. lucky to get away with a tie. thought we looked very dangerous when we went wide. missing pritchard hurt with the kicking. DTH is immense....top points getter for outside backs at fox sports fantasy rwc!

    2011 Team Of The Tournament

Totally forgot about Burger. he is absolutely incredible. he should be playing super 15 for an SA team. boot Clever out of the starting XV and have him on the bench. he could fill 6,7, or 8 as a super sub. I think Clever is best in open play. I'm not sure i rate him in the tight stuff as...

RWC 2011 - Pool A - NZ, Tonga, France, Japan, Canada

Quality contact sport? It's the middle of the CFL season (loaded with sarcasm). Everyone I know back home is loving all the rugby. even people who normally wouldn't watch that much are just plunking down on the couch or at the bar and watching back to back games. great stuff.

    2011 Team Of The Tournament

didn't include in my previous post, but definitely DTH at 13. I would go Ander Monro at 10 over Arlidge. Ander was great against Tonga and fantastic against Japan, plus he is the man.

    2011 Team Of The Tournament

I would have Kleeberger at 7 over Clever and instead put Clever at 6 (he's played there before and is probably more suited to 6...he is a big unit) I would think you take the welsh 8 out of there. yes they are not top 5, but hardley emerging. I would replace him with Gorgodzilla. He must...

    2011 World XV

cheers, just saw that! Agree with Argies v England. If Contemponi had been playing, it would have been game over. They arne't as good as 4 years ago, but they are proving they are right up there. 4 nations will do wonders for them.

RWC 2011 - Pool A - NZ, Tonga, France, Japan, Canada

DEfinitely dissapointed. the 4 day turnaround for France never really gave us much of a chance. Odds of us beating them were pretty slim, and against full professionals, we were always going to fade away in the final 10, but geez give us a shot! Feel more for Samoa who legitimately could...

    2011 World XV

Just going on the RWC 1. Castro 2. Bismark (though up for debate as he hasn't been starting) 3. Franks 4. Horwill (can see arguments against having him in) 5.O'Connell 6. Kaino - superb! 7. SOB/Warburton or McCaw - three very impressive players. If i had to pick one, i'd say McCaw just...

Carter was outplayed by Cooper in the s15 final???

Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup 2011

it would just be a very big call to go for an unproven test player. whoever gets called up will only be getting into a big game if there is an emergency, so I would have to think you'd want someone you know (giteau) slotting in over an unknown. time will tell.

    RWC Wallabies v USA - 23 September

7's cover for Ant. Agree, based on recent performances he was on the outs anyways and probably won't be starting again, bar more injuries. For horne, you've got to bring in Centre cover. Turner won't do and preferrably someone with 13 experience. at the moment you've j ust got AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) and Digby if...

Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup 2011

If Ant and Horne are both out, I don't know why they would bring in Turner who is a winger/fullback. you have enough people who can cover those positions at the moment. JOC (James O'Connor), Mitchell, Beale, and AAC (Adam Ashley-Cooper) can all cover full back and realistically they can all cover wing (beale has pace). plus Digby...

AUS IRB World Ranking drops to 3rd behind NZ & SA - Ireland up to 6th

dubious ranking. I can't see us beating Samoa. Fiji we could beat. we'll be reverting to 12th shortly I would think.
