John O'Neil Must Have Been Misquoted

Damn, said "Scarf out" then still here. Just like Sharpe vs Simmons, Deans will always pick the younger player. As I've said before, he has a greater youth fetish than Alan Jones. The whole point of all that "development" and "learning" is that by the time the RWC comes around we're supposed to...

You know that thing Groucho said about me 5 pages ago? Well ... :bird

John O'Neil Must Have Been Misquoted

I won't go on about it, but I vigorously contest the need for generational change. In my opinion, (1) it is always unjustifiable - just pick the man for the next match; (2) ridiculously over-focused on one random tournament which can be won or lost by a ref or a bad bounce; (3) it has manifestly...

No way would you take the 3! Keep playing, Samoa!!

RWC 2011 - Pool D - Fiji, Namibia, Wales, South Africa, Samoa

Wales starting to manage the game towards a win. Samoa down by 7 with 7 to play. They really only have a Plan A - rumble it.

RWC 2011 - Pool D - Fiji, Namibia, Wales, South Africa, Samoa

Samoa getting a bit silly around the rucks. Can't afford to give penalties away - the Welsh don't look like scoring tries. [Edit - and then they score a try. Of course]

RWC 2011 - Pool D - Fiji, Namibia, Wales, South Africa, Samoa

Huge try to the Samoans!! This thing is a 50/50 game for sure. Welcome to the big time Samoa. 10-6 Men in Blue.

Hey Groucho - while you're here, why don't you admit you were wrong about almost everything to do with Deans?

The Kiwis are rigging the World Cup so they can win.

40% is an incredible stat. It's starting to look like the ball flies like a brick unless hit absolutely perfectly.

RWC 2011 - Pool D - Fiji, Namibia, Wales, South Africa, Samoa

I'm getting interested now - both sides have scoring firepower. Still 6-3 Wales.

No such thing as double movement, but it was the right decision. Pity after all that build up.

RWC 2011 - Pool D - Fiji, Namibia, Wales, South Africa, Samoa

I'm watching it but strangely distracted. I think it's because we were supposed to be playing the winner of this game. My enthusiasm is a bit knocked around this morning. I haven't even drunk any beer yet. If things get any worse, I might start talking to the wife and children again.

Even within the context of Robbie probably being mad, and the circumstance that he definitely is mad, I still had to go and check that he really said that. As I've said before, no wonder the players aren't doing what they're supposed to be doing when they're constantly addressed in weasel words.

Wallabies at the Rugby World Cup 2011

Keep up the good fight, mate. A big change like this will take a few years to evolve. I reckon if we can get the crowd singing Waltzing Matilda during/after the haka, It'll snowball from there. Mind you, be prepared for Nick Farr-Jones to call you a boofhead.

    RWC - Wallabies v Ireland - 17th September 2011

I reckon people are being harsh with Cooper. One of the miracle balls was a cracker and the right winger was just too slow to react to what was up. (Can't remember who, it was late in the game on the Ireland tryline).

    Scrum Talk

Big call, Sully. I'm not a climate scientist, but I thought we lost the scrums fair and square.
