    Sydney Subbies 2015

The problem is no-matter where you look in NSW its the same story – schools, junior clubs etc No funding from ARU / NSWRU Less players Less clubs Less media coverage I wonder how much $ from this alleged bigger TV deal we flow down to the grassroots Fuck me this game is dying

    Sydney Subbies 2015

It would be safe to say that that Rugby is disappearing from the Australian landscape at an accelerating pace. It is declining when measured against every metric you can think of... Read and weep. https://admin.fusesport.com/_uploads/res/132_9497.PDF

    Broadcast options for Australian Rugby

So just to bring everything up to speed I’ve summarised the following rumours. From 2016 onwards Fox (and to a lesser extent channel 10) have allegedly agreed to.... $40 million per year. (up from $25) Includes Wallabies, SupeRugby and NRC 6 year term 4 conferences with Argies and Japan. 1...

I should also add that the ARU appears to be succeeding in this so well done gents!

    Shute Shield 2015

an absolute shocker and the ARU have no-one to blame but themselves. Its almost like the ARU is trying to kill the game - astonishing.

    Australian Rugby / RA

Its a shocker and the Soccer authorities in Australia has been gouging their players for years - The ARU release that that this is a great way to raise money. Its a pity when no-one ends up playing, that they'll have no-one else to gouge. maybe little old ladies or defenceless puppies. Add...

you'd have to be certain that the drop in ratings was the abysmal Reds performance last year.

    Shute Shield 2015

In the current parlous financial state of the ARU, I'm just glad to be reading about the Shute Shield Clubs making surpluses each year. Coming from the land of subbies, I would have no idea if we made a profit or loss each year - just how much was in the bank account!

    Shute Shield 2015

Manly Marlins posted a profit in 2014 of $11,500 from a total revenue of $773,176. There's some good equity being created by the Marlins and I hope the lack of ARU funding doesnt hurt next year. Any other clubs posted their numbers yet?

Isn’t this a post about the mungo media? Interesting article in today’s SMH by some bloke I’ve never heard of saying the the AFL and NRL are insignificant sports and are destroying our international success.

    The Pulverisation of Australian Rugby

Thinthe Waratahs pay 5% of their revenue to NSWRU, with a high water mark. I have heard the Tahs are looking at $1 million profit this year so by my rudimentary maths, that means NSWRU get an extra $100k this year. A pity that the Shute Shield is now affiliated directly to the ARU so would...

    Shute Shield 2015

I have a feeling its made up of pledges from ex-players and the Gordon RUFC committee, funds from Mingara and Friends of Gordon. I could be completely wrong but in this era of no money in rugby, I wouldn’t be complaining. Would be great to see a very strong Gordon again...

Expressions of interst for Season 2015 are now open

Gordon’s Annual Report is out and again they have posted a profit for 2014 of $400k on a revenue of circa $900k. There is no doubt, the club is heading in the right direction after serious issues a few years back. A $900k rev puts them in the same company as Sydney Uni, West Harbour and Manly...

Was interested to read today that one of the Casella wine owners has just been pinned for drugs and firearms. The article mentioned that Casella sponsor a lot of the local sporting clubs in Griffith – dare I ask if they sponsor the Griffith Rugby Club?
