Round 4: Hurricanes v Waratahs, Friday 17th March

With Jordy B calling the shots for the Canes I don't expect there will be a lot of high balls which are liable to go anywhere in the wind. Rather I think he will be putting grubbers in behind Nadolo. How Jorgenson goes covering behind Nadolo will have a bearing on the outcome.

    Brumbies v Moana 7.35pm 18/3/23

Allan still suffering head knock issues? Or having a mandatory stand down? Darcy Swain out with a foot injury - not considered serious according to the Canberra Times.

    Chiefs v Rebels 14:35 18/03

Good to see Trevor Hosea in the side again. I was thinking it might have been the end of the year when he limped off last week. The finishing front row has a more dangerous look to it than the starting one. Go Rebs.

    Waratahs 2023

Mosese has all the potential in the world and more than that is already an excellent player. Cut the Brumbies backline to pieces in a trial last year. I reckon Scotland would never regret offering the big money if he accepts. OTOH, $85,000 is nowhere near his value imo.

SRP (Super Rugby Pacific) 2023 General Chat

Something's not right in the State of Denmark - Debreczini No 4 in the defensive backs when I don't think he even got on the field last week.

Nothing wrong with your memory Adam. Anyway, it is good to see Mack making such a go of it in Ireland.

    Refereeing decisions

It is uncertain when and where the knock on occurred. Doleman's ruling would indicate it must have been early in the phases and probably with little or no territory gain by the Brumbies. If it was the dropped ball near the tryline then clearly it was a bad call by the TJ as that incident was in...

Australian Super Rugby Team of the Week 2023

Ili isn't eligible, but he did put in the best No 12 performance of the weekend. To my eyes, Stewart was no better nor worse than he always is, but not TOTW material.

    Refereeing decisions

The ref was very clear in his explanation why the game went back to the advantage. The penalty advantage expired when the touch judge (not AR imo) claimed he saw a Brumbies knock on (which is the matter that Laurie is questioning). The coms link between the touchie and the ref was down at the...

    Refereeing decisions

I've noticed some teams (Brumbies have done it) stand around the ref debating which kick to take, imo giving the tee runner a good amount of time to get ready to bring it onto the field and not take time off the kicker.

    Refereeing decisions

I did see that, on replay, Reg. It doesn't look good but looks to me to be no different to clean outs beyond the ruck that occur numerous times in every game. To me it looks more like obstruction than some of the shenanigans teams get up to in rolling mauls. In most cases those clea outs simply...

Or JOC (James O'Connor)'s huge forward pass in Jordan's second try.

    SR2023 - NZ Derbies & v Drua/ Moana

That was definitely a Crusaders "B" team. Only a handful of recognisable faces. But it doesn't auger well for the next few years for the men in Red if those are the players coming through the system, and without Razor there to lead them.

How did so much discussion of Edmed, Donaldson, Maddocks, Harrison and Jorgenson find its way on to the Wallabies thread?

    Wallabies 2023

Dru, I like your take on the other prospective No 10s, but I really think you're off the mark considering Hamish there. He couldn't get a run at 10 for the Reds and left for the Force on the proviso (apparently) that he would play 10. But of course he isn't there either. Hamish imo is a passable...

    SR2023 R3 - Rebels vs Waratahs Friday 10 March @ 7.35pm

Seems most share your view Wilson that Perese was innocent because the Rebel was jumping to take the ball. I still don't see it that way. For comparison sake, I liken it to a player chasing a high kick who jumps over the potential ball receiver. If the outcome is similar to what happened last...

    Wallabies 2023

Long time between drinks for you KOB. Haven't needed to make any comments, good or critical, of Will for at least a couple of years. He would, undoubtedly, be the pick of the three Wallabies in waiting for the 10 spot currently playing for the Tahs. Still that wouldn't need a very skillful...
